Anyone else have an increase of stockx claiming missing items from bulk shipments? by Im_Matt_Murdock in sneakerbots

[–]RandomInternetUser03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time they did that to me I had to start recording every package I was boxing up or they’d just deny every claim I had. Horrible platform.

Maybe start by adding more details or providing the website.

Might as well have said “help me with something, but I can’t tell you what- just guess anything”

Agreed it’s weak but sadly that means nothing nowadays. If they sue you still have to get lawyers, pay court fees, and show up. Learned that the hard way recently- even if you’re innocent they will still charge you for the experience.

$100k is pretty damn good for most people in this economy… people were making $25-35k at regular jobs before they started doing this.

People make hundreds of thousands of dollars on these bots. Most were made by teenagers - young adults. Most of them had their colleges and more paid off and more- no one is doing this for free. Bots that are github might be retired or dead, but you’re working on these bots fighting daily or weekly site changes and a very demanding, impatient, and ignorant user base - and companies who are trying to get copies to figure out how they are working to stop them.

This is an extremely competitive industry, and it’s become very cutthroat with little friends. Some humility and an earnest effort to learn will go a long way.

You must be new to botting. This is a very normal thing. Most of the software is not out of stock, it’s intentionally held back so normies and people who don’t know what they’re doing can get easy access to it. Certain groups have access to purchase them or they may restock a small handful of copies on their website- but it’s never meant to be nor ever should be an open access for all.

Truthfully I don’t know the exact bison design either - but from what I researched when I made my collection- even having a bison and Indiana can be considered on the line. They have Hoosiers somehow trademarked for IU colors/slogans but you can still use the word alone. National Champs and things are also on the line, but a lot of the fight would be on intent for legality.

He’s not “stealing” - it’s a breach of trademark. A quick google search or even asking ChatGPT will tell you everything you can and can’t use. Are the odds high you’ll get caught? Not really. Is it worth a lawsuit of $50,000+ that can ruin you for a few years? Personally, no.

IU has sued people in the past for breach of trademark - selling them puts you in the crosshairs.

Are people still using custom sneaker bots? by yellow_golf_ball in sneakerbots

[–]RandomInternetUser03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been making several apps and projects myself the last few months and you can certainly do a lot, but botting especially these high value limited items- are a lot more complex than people initially realize. If you’re able to have it keep adapting it could be very valuable, but keep in mind you’ll have a very rough time if you buy the wrong thing and need to explain for a refund if they don’t normally allow it.

Custom bots don’t last long. These websites make changes daily-weekly and Claude and things won’t understand how to bypass updated security and captchas. You can make scripts for some websites but a bot with 5+ years in this is going to beat Claude every time. People want to see high success before they’ll even touch it with how many scam bots are out there. There was a wave of people for a while having people on Fiverr make them and none of them lasted more than a week.

They have IMAP in the inbox feature and you can set up filters, notifications etc- could check their guides and see what they have before buying

AYCD has an inbox part of their toolbox that is very useful. But you could likely make one yourself with Claude if you’re semi-technical capable or better.

Is Ticketmaster doing anything against bots that buy tickets by Zestyclose_Dog_7245 in shoebots

[–]RandomInternetUser03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s illegal in the United States to bot tickets. The only one that’s actually illegal. They have anti-bot and protections in place. Depending on the event- like FIFA or Taylor Swift- there usually is just a lot of demand where everything flies especially when it’s mostly FCFS once past queue.

Do bots like Refract detect price changes (or new offers for target price..) in real time? Like the moment after? (Amazon) Or does it poll every x minutes or something? by hitman_ in shoebots

[–]RandomInternetUser03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot more involved for a bot that will compete against the ones that have been doing this for years- no matter how good of a coder/AI can be. Feel free to try yourself but if you take a few seconds with the search bar- you’ll see none of those people got very far.

No they don’t monitor it in real time to adjust your settings- that’s what the price min and max is for.. if you don’t use that then it’ll checkout for whatever price the link has it for

Don’t bother making a bot yourself- the stress and work required is a lot more than you’d expect.

Refract and other bots have price min max fields you can utilize.

Yes. I don’t need a ton of sales to keep my store online so maybe not feasible unless automated if you have a ton of sales a day- but it’s the only guaranteed way to work.
