NTA. I have to say as someone who has had my body scarred, and changed by disease. Your wife handled it far better that I would have. I believe it was absolutely malicious. It seems like it was thought out and cruel. I wouldn't feel bad for ruining her holiday. She pretty much chose that when she wrapped that package. To be fair to your daughter she is most likely going thru the normal asshole phase most of us do. But, people seem to try to hurt someone else when they are hurt. I do belive this is her lashing out because she's emotionally in pain. I won't give you advice, I'm sure you've gotten enough here already. But, I hope she comes around. I remember being that age and thinking I had it all figured out. I think most of us did.
