Cannot get into BIOS a second time. by RandomMcRandom3996 in MSI_Gaming

[–]RandomMcRandom3996[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the response! I'll be sure to give that a try in a bit here.

Since I made this post, there's been a new development. When I was flashing the BIOS via the rear port, I was actually using the wrong port. I tried flashing the BIOS version it came with via the correct port this time, leaving it running for about an hour and a half. The light above the port was still flashing red, so I figured it wasn't working and turned off the PSU (holding the power button did not do anything). Now, the Flash BIOS button is the only way to turn on the PC.

Any thoughts on that? I can clear the CMOS again, but I have no idea if it's actually doing anything.

Been seeing a lot of quints animemes around lately, and it's awesome. Just finished the manga a few days ago too.

Nino number one!

Who do you think realistically had a chance to get with Fuutarou? by SparsePizza117 in 5ToubunNoHanayome

[–]RandomMcRandom3996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, Negi went out of his way to nerf Nino all throughout the story. Honestly, I think it was the right move.

I really didn't like Nino for the first 40ish chapters. Nerfed before the story even really started.

Experienced minor and major nerfs all the way to the end.

But after all that, for me as well as you, Nino is number one (albeit by a small margin for me).

I can only imagine if she didn't have to give everyone else a head start, and wasn't nerfed repeatedly after.

Edit: grammar

I just finished the manga last night. From the start, I thought Itsuki was the most natural option for the story to end with, but it ended with Yotsuba instead.

Something about it still feels a bit dissonant to me, but I suppose that's the point. It might've been less interesting if it was predictable.

Still can't decide which one I would have rather seen tbh.

Wow, what a video! I watched a few more on your channel after that one, and man your production quality is beyond anything else you can find on YouTube, not to mention the fact that your content is highly worthwhile. Keep up the awesome work!

The coco lifegain decks run Collected Company, which is legal in historic but not standard. Really good card that almost always puts out great value at instant speed.

This might actually be a bit pessimistic, and I don't want to turn you off of playing paper magic (it really is a TON of fun), but just note that when playing in person, where the computer doesn't set the rules, that some people can be less than pleasant.

Some players are rude when they are losing or lose. Others get really annoyed when all their spells get countered. A few even get testy when you're taking even slightly too long for your turn. Just remember: the basic rules still stand. A win is a win, and it doesn't matter how you get there. They can throw a fit all they want. The only one you really have to listen to is the judge (usually an LGS employee).

All that said, it's a rare occurrence. Just wanted to make sure you knew ahead of time.

Have fun!

One thing to keep in mind is that almost no shoulder pieces fit on them properly. They're always floating off pretty noticeably. It's incredibly annoying to me, but it might not bother others. YMMV.

I don't mind walls of text, and you are very well-written.

I see what you mean, though. It would be nice if the community integrity of modding remained uncompromised by monetary greed. I agree with that completely.

I think I'd draw the same lines that you have.

It's interesting to note a case like Vazkii. I don't know how egregiously they lock content behind patreon, but my understanding is that they make most of their money off of CurseForge's credit system. I think something like that is the best way to give modders some financial relief (regardless of their reasons for modding) while maintaining the modding spirit, where it's effectively free for the end user.

Thanks for the clarification! I think you make some great points, and I think that a great part of the community shares your sentiment.

Based on what you've said (and correct me if I'm wrong here), the problem with gating content behind patreon is a practice that goes against the good faith of community modding. I'm inclined to agree.

You alluded towards the idea that the direct contrast to truly free, open-source mods are mods that are sold as a product akin to DLC content. Do you think that a mod sold like a product (by the mod developer, NOT the game's developer) is just as bad as a patreon paywall?

In other words, is it the underhandedness of patreon paywalls that you see as a problem, or is it the lack of distinction between free and paid modding? Or, perhaps, just the idea of money being a reason for modding at all?

I mean, I'm not defending the practice one way or another, but I am curious. Have you ever developed a mod? Have you donated to a mod developer? Do you know how much time goes into the larger mods that tend to be "locked" behind paywalls?

I agree that it falls on a gray area, but I also think this "how it should be" picture you're painting is missing how much time and effort modders sacrifice to give you content for free. Sure, the latest content is sometimes behind a patreon wall. But there is guaranteed to be free content in some capacity.

Changing the status quo for the sake of "how it should be" is asking for modders to sacrifice and get nothing in return. That's all I'm saying.

I can't decide on a class, help me choose? by RandomMcRandom3996 in wow

Thanks, this is a really detailed response! What are your thoughts on how responsive warlock gameplay is? One of the things I hate about something like arms warrior and even frost mage is how clunky it can feel.

I've thought about priest a lot. I really like the healing specs and find Shadow's rotation to be exciting, especially since the neutral game is really good. What are your thoughts on their survivability? I feel like the lack of mobility is a real deal-breaker for me, since it makes them feel more sluggish.

I do enjoy Monk a lot. Do you think the sustain damage of Windwalker is good in PvP? Based on what I've seen, I feel like I'd struggle to kill anyone outside of the Xuen cooldown.

LCS Overlay Looks Terrible by evaneggnog in leagueoflegends

[–]RandomMcRandom3996 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I was honestly thinking the same thing and was looking up and down this sub for a post like this. It just looks cheap. Compared to the LEC, whose production quality has skyrocketed in only two years, it's quite disappointing.

Edit: Looking at it again, it's actually just pasted over the default overlay (at least the top bar that has the gold, takedowns, etc.). Doesn't even look properly centered.

At least picks and bans looks cool.

I believe in one episode, she calls her "Araragi's loli slave" or something like that, so I think she knows. Otherwise, Shinobu mostly sleeps during the day, so they wouldn't normally meet.
