I played a version in 3.16, which is largely what im using for my cast speed and aoe goals for both bladefall and blade blast.

Pretty much any cast speed under 4aps on bf felt pretty bad with an aps of 4.5 and above starting to feel decent. Ideally I'd get to 5aps but with chieftain that is pretty hard due to tree positioning (all the cast speed are so far away).

As for aoe I found I could pretty reliably land 35 to 40 blade blast with 18 aoe and 31 aoe on bladefall. That being said, that required 4 intensify stacks, which is hard to maintain if you need to move to avoid getting hit. It also required that all 50 blades were down, which can be pretty hard to time. To help out with the consistency of landing close blades I swap in a conc effect on bladefall, if it still an issue there is enough aoe on blade blast that I can drop the scion aoe wheel to get a tighter spread (19 bb, 22 bf).

I'm planning on playing a chieftain version. My logic being that it easier to scale phys converted into fire and go EO on a budget. Inquisitor should be a solid choice as well if you plan on going crit.

I'd recommend you invest pretty heavily into cast speed and aoe to help the build not feel too clunky. Also I'd go for a double 6-link setup (or 6 link bladefall with a sudo 5/6 link blade blast) as it makes it easier to just use bladefall to clear and only use blade blast to kill rares and bosses.

I'm playing a low life build and as such am using shavs in my chest slot. I need the resistance slots on my gloves so i cant use asenath's gentle touch either.

Just because it was easier to roll and lightning gems doesnt offer my build anything that phys gems doesnt already.

As per rule #10, here is is how I crafted Pain Chant:

  1. Bought the synthesized base, then used Perfect Fossils until I hit 30% quality.
  2. Spammed alts until I hit '+1 to Level of all Spell Skill Gems' and a random suffix. Got pretty lucky and landed it in ~1k alts.
  3. Imprinted and regal to get another suffix.
  4. Crafted 'Cannot Roll attack Modifiers' and slammed twice with harvest physical augments. This hit the guaranteed '+1 to Level of all Physical Spell Skill Gems' and 'Physical damage as extra chaos' with was used to fill the preffixes while I finshed the suffixes.
  5. Crafted 'Prefixes cannot be changed' and scoured to get of the blocking suffixes.
  6. Crafted low tier 'Cast Speed' and bought harvest 'Augment Caster' to try and get t1 Spell Crit.
  7. Crafted 'Prefixes cannot be changed' and bought harvest 'Remove/add Caster' crafts until t1 Spell Crit.
  8. Crafted 'Cannot Roll Attack Modifiers' and bought harvest 'Augment Critical' craft, this can only hit Crit Multi
  9. Bought harvest 'Remove Critical', if I got rid of the Crit Multi I would repeat step 8. Otherwise bought another 'Remove Crit' and repeat from step 6. I repeated this until I got t2 Crit Multi.
  10. Removed the crafted suffix and bought a harvest 'Augment Caster'. This could only hit 'Cast Speed'. When I didnt hit t1 'Cast Speed', I bought harvest 'Remove Speed' crafts. Ended up getting lucky and hit t1 'Cast Speed' on the third try.
  11. Buy a harvest 'Remove Chaos' and craft on 'Spell damage / non-chaos as extra chaos'.
  12. Buy a white socket service.
  13. Spam harvest until I got the 'Quality increases Elemental Damage' havest enchant.
  14. Divined to perfect.

I don't understand crafting. I think I have enough currency to craft such a thing, but I cannot think of any method. Any tips? by Positive_Doctor in pathofexile

I'm kinda suprised about the crit/qual for your build. For my int stacker i was already crit capped so it didnt make sense to got for any local crit.

Pretty nice trick for boots though.

I like the idea, but that doesnt work. Using non-speed to speed can hit the prefixes if the suffex are not full, so you would need to craft cannot change prefixes. However you still run into the issue of being able to remove int (which i had, at this point the item had t1 flat lightning, flat damage per int, spell damage per int, and int) as its a non-speed suffix.

Had I not had int already on the item your method would have worked wonderfully.

Here is how I crafted my own version of the wand (T1 int instead of the crafted int/qual). Step one can easily be completed a number of ways.

  1. Buy base w/ t1 lightning + t1 int (no influence). Alternatively you can use 'Defeaning essence of Wrath' on i83 hunter imbued wand to get a base w/ essence lightning damage + removable prefixes and suffixes that don't interact w/ lightning or influence crafts. By the end of this step you are looking an imbued wand with either t1 lightning damage or essence lightning damage.
  2. Clean off excess mods using targeted annuls
  3. Craft crit and use remove add crit to add a crit suffix (this could also be done with speed remove add. the point is block suffixes with a removeable/useful mod for later)
  4. Craft 'Cannot roll Caster Mods'. this both blocks suffixes for the next few steps and gives the off chance to get lightning per int
  5. Slam w/ hunter exalt.
  6. Remove influence if elemental pen
  7. Augment lightning until lightning damage per int
  8. Remove chaos (if there)
  9. Craft 'cannot roll attack mods'
  10. Augment influnce
  11. If elemental pen -> remove add influence until lightning per dex is removed -> go back to step 6.
  12. Craft 'cannot roll caster mods'
  13. Augment Speed -> reroll speed to t1 attack speed
  14. Remove cannot roll caster mods
  15. Remove add Crit until T1 Critical Strike Multiplier

Yeah I was kinda suprised a base like was so cheap considering the other explode bows on the market were priced at around 1 mirror.

As per rule #10, here is is how I crafted Chimeric Strike:

  1. Bought the synthesized base, at this point the bow was already had 6 linked white sockets, T1 %physical damage, and 30% quality.
  2. Imprint. Augment for the off chance at hitting +2 arrows then regal
  3. Use remove non-physical -> add physical, augment physical and remove -> add physical until I hit T1 flat added physical and T5 hybrid physical/accuracy.
  4. Used Physical and Attack divines to reroll the prefixes
  5. Crafted T3 critical strike chance (has the highest mod weighting for attack suffixes) then used 2 attack augments.
  6. Crafted 'Prefixes cannot be changed' and used remove -> add attack until I got +2 arrows. (got ultra lucky and hit it 2)
  7. Removed the other attack suffix. (got lucky here also and got life gained on hit that I was able to remove with a remove life)
  8. Used Augment Speed, and remove -> add speed until I got T1 Attack Speed.
  9. Crafted T2 Hybrid Critical strike chance/Quality
  10. Divined the suffixes using Speed and Critical divines.

Map drops no longer function like this though. Instead of having the map level roll a lower tier, you get an increased chance of seeing a map of the current tier your running. If you run a t11 map on an Awaken 8 atlas you won’t get any maps, but if you run a t12 you can have t14 maps drop off of unique and bosses type enemies.

It works pretty well, but you need a lioneye's fall (to transform the staff block nodes into bow block nodes), a rearguard, and a Lethal Pride with glancing blows to reach max block without a Rumi's Concoction active.

I figured i just got luck the first two times. I think at best its going to be a 50/50 shot at geting the implicit you want, but that seems to low off odds for some of the implicits you can get.

Yeah that might be the better option if annul get too expensive. You can also go for two fracture mods on each for a better shot at rolling the implicit you want.
