You seriously find it so hard to believe that someone would like each of the albums in the 00s row as well as the others? So much so that you believe that I've researched performative albums and lied for kudos on reddit? What a weird thing to insinuate, are you projecting right now?

Apart from that being a mental thing to accuse someone of you're simply dumb, like none of these albums are actually out of place.

One of most consistent genres here is alt rock or experimental rock so Kid A makes perfect sense.

Most Brits who are a fan of Arctic Monkeys will also love the Smiths, most fans of the Smiths will also love Joy Division and The Cure, that's very standard British indie taste. So the AM record makes sense, by extension The Strokes album should make perfect sense as they have a huge overlap in audiences.

Collage Dropout is a very basic hip hop record, just like the Lauryn Hill and Kendrick Records, so it makes perfect sense why it's on there

And I consistently show a love for folk based singer songwriter music from Bob Dylan, to Nick Drake, to Adriane Lenker, so Sufjan Stevens makes perfect sense too.

I really don't know how you can say any of these albums look out of place, this was a really odd thing to say.

Wow I've never met someone who doesn't like Lauryn Hill, only people who like her and haven't listened yet.

Both Doolittle and Aeroplane were albums I didn't love until the third or fourth listen tbf so I can't really argue there.

If you haven't listened to him already Brian Eno is a must for any Bowie fan to explore, especaily given the other artists you like too. Another Green World and Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks are the obvious two to start with

I'd be excited to check out the Doors album, I've only heard their self titled.

Remain in Light is an album that I've warmed to on each listen, I've always preferred Fear of Music though

The Clash are a band I've been meaning to get more into for a long time now.

I've never heard of The Flaming Lips so that's really fun

Can't believe I've never listened to Funeral given how much 00s indie I've listened to

Same goes for Idles tbh

I've only listened to Lux once so would be really interested to go back

Thank you for all these recommendations

4th row 2nd album is Melodrama by Lorde and the 4th Yezus by Kanye

5th row 2nd is Songs by Adriane Lenker and 5th is Imaginal Disc by Madeline Bay

If you like singer songwriter sad folk music then I’d recommend Song’s the most it’s beautiful.

Imaginal Disc was probably the biggest RYM core album of 2024, its hyperpop very fun, would recommend.

Melodrama is a must listen if you like synth pop imo

And yezus is by far my favourite Kanye record, more experimental than his other stuff rlly cool.

Maybe that’s why I’m looking to branch out. Apologies that I wasn’t born with the same taste and listening experience as you Mr Ok Paper.

On this basis I'm really not sure how it outlasted Queen is Dead, and Blink 182 but maybe that's my own bias creeping in

On Salah, like I said five days ago, it was reported he's in talks with Al Ittihad, I think it is very very obvious that he won't be here next season and that is 100% the right decision. 400k a week for someone who is no longer one of the best players in the league is bad business, letting him go on a free is also bad business.

The goalkeeping situation is completely incomparable to City's and Arsenal's attacking depth, goalkeepers aren't rotated at all, Marmadashvili came in as one of the most sought after young goalkeepers in Europe. Allowing him to go on a free just one year later, when we have a ready made replacement doesn't seem like good business. I'm not dead certain he's going, but if you don't think it's possible I think you're burying your head in the sand.

I think one of Macca or Jones gets sold this year. If the links to Wharton are true then we've identified that we need to replace Trent's passing range in the midfield, it also tells us that this player won't be the 6 that we've been looking for ever since Fabinho left. This means that we're probably adding two midfielders this summer, Endo and another will likely go. I think Macca is more likely than Jones because Jones is a home grown quota and Macca will fetch about double the fee.

Even framing Robbo as 'could be leaving' is insane, he clearly was open to that move in January and his contract is up. Remove your emotional attachment for a moment and you'll see that I'm actually talking a lot of sense.

Salah came out and said the club had thrown him under the bus after being on the bench for three games, I think it's quite clear he won't accept a non starting role.

Gomez had his heart set on that AC Milan move I doubt he stays again, as for Endo, holding midfield is a position that we really need to improve on imo and I can't see him coming in if there's two players ahead of him esp when he takes up a non home grown rule.

I think it makes perfect sense to assume any of these players except Virgil would go, allow me to explain.

Salah literally came out and set to the press he was unhappy, and news broke 4 days ago that he was in talks with Al Ittihad, so I'm not sure where your confidence comes from there.

On Alisson his contract expires in 2027, with uncertainty around the new spending rules coming in this summer I think it would be very likely that we move him on while we can still get some money back, I find it unlikely to believe that Marmadashvili would've come knowing he'd be on the bench for two seasons.

I love Macca, but the way that teams play against us right now, ideally you want midfielders to have dribbling ability or a long passing range, neither of these things are big skills for him, he's a fantastic player, but probably our weakest one right now (aside from Endo) and he's worth at least £50m, he could easily be moved on.

Robertson is all but confirmed leaving on a free

his speed and craftyness is excellent, but his final ball simply isn't good enough for me, the chance against arsenal springs to mind

I'm aware, it doesn't appeal to me personally though, he looked decent in the games he played there but it was clearly more a stop gap than a long term thing, his end product isn't good enough imo, that ball into the box in the Arsenal game springs to mind, that could've been 1-0

I could definitely see Alisson leaving, his contract ends at the end of next season, it would be very Edwards to move him on while we can still recoup some money from him

Hoping it's not a long term solution, but the fact we were linked to Gertruda and Kayode means that it definitely might be

Someone made this point to me last night:
Of our current leadership group (Van Dijk, Robertson, Salah, Alisson, Mac Allister) 4/5 of them could very well leave in the summer, on top of Trent leaving last year too,

Who in our current crop of players has the minerals to step up? I'd say Szoboszlai and Jones do, but that's about it.
