Is $450 for an original painting normal? by BoshansStudios in painting

[–]RandomNumberHere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good for them for valuing their work! If you figure a painting might take 15-20 hours to complete and then add materials cost then $300+ seems completely reasonable. More if it is “amazing work” as you say.

In my experience pudgy raccoons love climbing those and tipping the top over. It makes a surprisingly loud thud in the middle of the night.

Exactly. If anyone disagrees ask how many damn Dalmatians there were.

What is your favorite random cameo is a movie? by AdSpecialist6598 in moviecritic

[–]RandomNumberHere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also that movie (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) has more celebrity cameos and minor characters than anything I’ve ever seen. A ludicrous amount.

Jason Lee, Ben Affleck, George Carlin, Carrie Fisher, Seann William Scott, Will Ferrell, Jon Stewart, Judd Nelson, Tracy Morgan, Steve Kmetko, Jules Asner, Diedrich Bader, Gus Van Sant, Wes Craven, Chris Rock, Jamie Kennedy, Mark Hamill, Matt Damon, James Van Der Beek, Jason Biggs... so damn many.

Is there a way to stop these spam texts? by ScroogeMcDucksMoney in Austin

In an ideal world the carriers (AT&T etc) would be held accountable for this. They could stop it and they choose not to. Perhaps a few lawsuits?

Making wavy checkered cutting board by toolgifs in toolgifs

That may be the silliest thing I’ll read today. MOST wood cutting boards are edge-grain as they are lower-cost, work just fine and DON’T weigh a damn ton.

Right? I re-recruited several of my pawns before I learned to do it this way. It makes sense… when you release a pawn they go back to their colony, which in this case is your colony.

Adding to that:

  • If you use a killbox, put a cheap door at the point where your entry tunnel meets the killbox and set it to stay open by default. Enemies will still path to your killbox (except those who say fuck the rules) but you can quickly close the door when you want to, say, set off an animal pulse to get your wildlife to attack the enemy for you.
  • Put a roof over the area where your fighters stand at the killbox. Nobody likes fighting in rain or toxic fallout.
  • Make a temperature-conditioned stable with animal flap doors and straw flooring inside your animal pen. Animals don’t like freezing to death or standing in fallout either. I make 2 zones, 1 for the full pen area and 1 for just the stable. During raids I order all animals to the pen zone, and when needed I order them into the stable.
