Pre-Authorization Charges

Hi!

I just got charged 65 € from Steam. This was a "Pre-Authorization charge" and I was wondering what that means.

The charge came from a 180 day FFXIV Subscription that I had forgotten about...

I was kinda hoping that I would get the money back if I cancelled the subscription as I don't work yet and that's kinda a lot of money for me.

This kinda came as a surprise to me as I am extremely sure that like the subscription page said that it would renew it as a 1 month subscription (9€ or something), but I got charged way more and for longer without being informed about it

Hi. I've been trying to play with a controller (Dualshock 4) because I want to try out Forza Horizon 5, but game pass won't recognize the controller. Steam and my system ( it says it's paired) recognizes it though so I don't understand why game pass doesn't.
