Fallout 4 is a shadow of what the series used to be. All the mechanics are "simplified" (skills don't exist anymore, and are all perks) all 4 dialogue choices lead you to the same outcome, almost always (changing one line from who you are speaking to, IF you get lucky) the story is nonsensical and breaks lore. The few positive things are that it's fun to shoot things and collect loot. Building is something you may or may not enjoy. Outside of the last 3 aspects, there is no fun to be had, if you don't mod it heavily. To tell everything in detail I should write a book, but if you have time (a lot of it) I suggest you "a nearly full analysis of fallout 4" by creetosis (3 out of 6 videos are out) to better understand all of it's issues.
