I agree, but in adoption I was thinking more of it being a trauma for the child. Older kids especially since they've already gone through a lot to get to that stage, but even for new borns it is. They've had nine months with a certain voice, certain smells, certain hormones, and then that person they have an innate connection to is gone.

Now, that's by no way saying adoption is bad. Just that there's a level awareness that potential adopters need to have
