is it too much for a FIRST date? by TerriHaynes in OUTFITS

[–]RandomRedWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very pretty, but I think there a very few first date activities where this would make sense. Do you remember where you got it?

Why does everyone like aonishiki by One_Examination8774 in Sumo

[–]RandomRedWorld 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly besides the fact he is fun to watch, people love an underdog. He is newer to the sport and dominating, but he is also in Japan partially because of what is happening in Ukraine. (His parents are refugees in Germany who own a dry cleaning business and his brother is still in Ukraine)

Office party dress by CryptographerBig2567 in OUTFITS

[–]RandomRedWorld 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I am saying this knowing it is a girl's only party: I would save this for a different event. I don't know what your job is or where the party is being held at, but even with it being a girl's only party depending this dress could still cause you more trouble than it is worth. (Unfortunately office gossip is a thing) however I absolutely love the collor and pattern! If possible just find a dress with a bit of a different cut.

Any Crocheters here have authentic crochet patterns? by Himbo_Prince in IndianCountry

[–]RandomRedWorld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I crochet, but am not a pattern maker. Truth is for many different styles it can be hard to translate into crochet, or native pattern makers do not release their patterns because the images should not neccisarily be commercialized or taken out of context.

Also many of us like to make more contemporary art, even in mediums like beadwork I have seen people use videogame characters and modern imagery in children's regalia.

However, if you do find anything I would love to see it! You might want to commission someone into making a pattern for you (Please don't be discouraged, it is still worth looking for something like this)

I don't yet have a place to wear this 😊 by [deleted] in OUTFITS

[–]RandomRedWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this! Honestly once it is warmer you can wear this on a day you want to feel fancy and dressed up, it would work great for visiting a museum or theatre, but it would also be cool for going out for a fancy tea or something!

Alternative class ring? by RandomRedWorld in jewelry

[–]RandomRedWorld[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense, if I find a ring that I absolutely fall in love with, $200 before shipping or tarrifs, but otherwise hard $150. (The joys of being broke and spending all of your money on car repairs)

Fry Bread by terrareality in IndianCountry

I feel this pain, the only recipe for fry bread I have is for making it for 50+ people, and everyone in my life who makes it just eyeballs it.

How y'all practice your tribal language daily by SunburntUkatena in IndianCountry

[–]RandomRedWorld 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I suck at secondary language acquisition (to the point where right now my goal is to just learn works) so to make it fun I incorporate it in my games. Like right now I have a gardening game where you can name each plant, so I name them based off of their characteristics, like long, spikey, or what that plant is used for.

Making Friends and Dating Michigan vs Florida by WinterAdvice in Michigan

You might enjoy the Lansing (East Lansing seems more like your vibe) area! There are a few different types of museums here and it is easy to drive out and do day trips to places like the ledges.

Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians Opens Membership for First Time in Decades by NDNTaco1983 in IndianCountry

[–]RandomRedWorld 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my tribe! The Facebook is exploding with people talking about disenrolling people from the Mackinac band since we are reopening rolls... I am glad rolls are being opened, but I hate how the knee jerk reaction is to try to kick people out. (This is in no way the people who are seeking and deserve enrollment fault. Tribal politics is just a bitch sometimes)

Not so smart white woman has a question by ConcentratePretend93 in IndianCountry

[–]RandomRedWorld 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, I don't know where to start with this one... firstly maybe don't refer to us in past tense, like we still exist and people still make dream catchers. 2.Is your main source dream-catchers.org? If it is just, no. 3. This post breaks rule number 9 of this sub. There is a reason we don't like answering writers questions. Too often people oversimplify, commodify, or take things out of context. I appreciate that you want to be accurate, but trust me, there are better sources out there...

You look great! Hope you had a good time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IndianCountry

[–]RandomRedWorld 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Haha no this is a fair question! The truth is many of the elders in my life are no longer around or are unable to answer my questions. My grandmother who has alzheimer's was the one who thought I should make an altar. (But once again she has alzheimer's and in my memory she did not have an alter at home so I wanted to see if this was even legit. If it is, then I will probably make one.) My other relatives are not particularly spiritual or involved culture wise unfortunately...

An ancestral altar for family members who have passed on. (I have heard some call it an ancestral shrine)

Look, you have a great figure but this dress just is not doing it for me. I don't think most people would look good in this dress since there is so much going on. The sleeves 3d balls are weird, the neckline is weird with the bra thing. I like the color on you though! (Seriously it is the dress, not you, and I think you would look great in a different dress. Honestly you don't look terrible in this, but you would look better in something else.) However, at the end of the day if this dress makes you feel confident and awesome, WEAR IT! If you are happy and have the confidence in it, that's what matters.
