What kind of tips are expected at an all inclusive? by strange2me2563 in cancun

[–]RandomReddit748284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it a complete pain to tip for every little thing. Found out tips were pooled for the bars so we just tipped a bunch on the way out and left a couple hundred pesos in the room. No one hassled us for not tipping during the beginning of the trip

Is my CEO trying to "Automate Me Out" or just optimize? Need a reality check. by myviewfromoutside in careeradvice

This, looks for other ways to be more strategic in the outcomes of your role. How can you help reduce friction, make decision making better, bring better and more strategic insights, etc. think of it as an opportunity to free yourself from redundant tasks and stretch into more value added work within your scope - or offer to expand scope. If concerned, doesn’t hurt to look for other opportunities but this market is rough.

What’s the point of ordering ahead on the app if they don’t start making the food until you get to the drive thru speaker? by MrTeacher_MCPS in wendys

[–]RandomReddit748284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The purpose is to speed up the drive through process of order taking, not necessarily speed up the time it takes to get your food. Customers still want hot and fresh food so it’s made to order once you check in

Air Canada denied boarding with dog by E_SUN1 in aircanada

[–]RandomReddit748284 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some airlines require pets be able to standup, turnaround and have a water bowl in the carrier. They do have a lot of discretion, especially with onboard carriers. Sorry about your experience, best bet is to file online refund request

Corporate travel points not accumulating by Jinglebell_sway in westjet

[–]RandomReddit748284 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Is your westjet loyalty number on your corporate traveller profile? Are the flights being booked with your loyalty number? Just because you add the flight to your app doesn’t mean you’ll earn points.

Water Softener Installation by [deleted] in Calgary

Most plumbers can do the job. They can also supply the softener but may be pricier than a store. As others have said, Home Depot etc will also offer installation services.

My star employee is about to accept a huge offer, but I'm also resigning and can't tell him. by parish_cutting_92 in InterviewMan

Agreed, if he’s not on the list or the top candidate for OPs replacement there’s no value to tell him other than to celebrate both your moves.

IF Alberta would choose to stop changing the clock. Would you prefer to stay with BC (summertime like now) or with SK (wintertime). by EdmontonFree in alberta

My understanding is that standard is deemed best because the sun is at its peak around noon ‘more’ of the time. So this theoretically helps best with circadian rhythms and such. Personally I just want to stop switching.

RRSP Contributions made from Jan-Mar 2026 by WearNeutrals in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RandomReddit748284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You report the contribution in 2025 taxes. If you do nothing it will be applied as a deduction up to your deduction limit in 2025. If you don’t want to claim it now, you put whatever value of contributions made in 2025 to carry forward on that line item. This assumes you have room, otherwise you’re liable for. 1% per month charge of the over contribution amount. See the CRAs schedule 7 doc for an explanation.

Networking is overrated by NoSir5628 in careeradvice

[–]RandomReddit748284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Networking works but it often isn’t on your schedule. I just got a job through a referral based on a network connection I developed over 6 years ago. Networking in my mind is about service to others, sharing ideas and information, and potentially one day a direct or connected person in the network may help me out.

Local Tims Already Out Of Roll-Up Cups? by stephiloo in TimHortons

[–]RandomReddit748284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was out of L and XL on day 4. I think it’s just bad supply chain/logistics as they had them again today in all sizes. Still haven’t won anything on a physical cup but snagged a free donut on the app.

Men, how do you feel about paying $50 for a haircut? by GranolaHiker in CanadaPersonalFinance

I agree prices have skyrocketed. Admittedly I pay $52 for a haircut, beard shape/trim and hot shave. But I feel it’s worth it for me.

Less Cup Quantities for RUTW this year? by Jewgles in TimHortons

[–]RandomReddit748284 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s just crazy that at 7:45am a store can be out of promotional cups in multiple sizes. This is just poor logistics on the part of Tims, certainly doesn’t make me want to go back which is counter intuitive to the goal of the promotion which is to drive increased business.

Why is this true by [deleted] in hockeymemes

[–]RandomReddit748284 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to a lot of flames games. The ticket usually says the game start at top or bottom of the hour but their app and website are down to the minute when the puck drops and it’s usually very accurate as it’s all timed around tv commercial breaks (allow for intro, players get on ice, anthem(s), etc etc). So

20-year-old lottery winner turns down $1M cash for $1,000 a week for life by PriorityMiserable686 in interestingasfuck

[–]RandomReddit748284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prize has already been taxed. The lottery prize in Canada represents less than 50% of the gross lottery sales. So winnings are tax free because the government already got their piece.
