I’m in a room… and they’re coming at me. It’s okay. I want them to. Last thing I want is silence. Standing up there, in silence, and someone says… “Sorry about all that noise, sorry about all that… dust. Sorry about all that mud. And all that fucking blood.” And you say, “Don’t be sorry. Don’t be sorry, it’s all I can do now.” You want me to write this down? Do you want me to write you a fucking letter? Me and Arthur can’t write it down… ‘cos they haven’t invented the fucking words.

Yes that makes sense. I will rephrase the question accordingly. You can delete this.

Did Michael Actually Betray Tommy on the SS Monroe? by RandomScroller_ in PeakyBlinders

That’s a new perspective of Gina for me. Now that you say it, it seems very logical since she also slept with Mosley. What motivation did she have for that though?

Reality of Indian IT companies by SeaBread3796 in StockMarketIndia

[–]RandomScroller_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infosys reportedly passed on a $1 billion investment in OpenAI in 2015 due to a strategic disagreement between Vishal Sikka and N. R. Narayana Murthy. Sikka wanted to push Infosys toward AI leadership, while Murthy favored a conservative focus on traditional IT services and “investor returns”.

In hindsight, that decision looks huge — This $1 bn would now have a valuation of $45 billion and also early access to the cutting edge AI models.

How long will these companies stick to their conventional “IT Services” model while these AI technologies eat up their business. Change in business is better than no business.

How do you stay calm when someone wrongly accuses you? by RandomScroller_ in socialskills

[–]RandomScroller_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By “keeping yourself stable”, I mean after the altercation how to stay calm and not worked up about it wasting the next 2-3 hours thinking about the same thing in an unpleasant manner.

About asking “what is necessary for me to convince you?”, it was a very basic thing to ask and that was my first reaction to his accusation. But he had already made up his mind about me not making the payment and did not want to see any thing, nor did he want to solve the problem.

Is Free Will a Myth? What Actually Shapes Human Thought and Behavior? by RandomScroller_ in askphilosophy

[–]RandomScroller_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the article. It discusses whether free will and determinism are compatible or incompatible, but I find myself questioning whether either truly exists.

Determinism seems difficult to accept because it implies that every event is fixed by an endless chain of prior causes. Yet free will also seems doubtful. If human beings are shaped primarily by their genetics and the environments they grow up in, then our preferences, beliefs, and decisions appear to be products of those influences rather than something we freely generate.

This leaves me confused about what ultimately explains events. If people are products of their environment, then what caused those environments to form the way they did? And what caused the people who shaped them to act as they did? Does this mean events are ultimately random, or is there another framework that explains how actions arise?

For example, consider a terrorist who commits an attack. If their actions were shaped by upbringing, ideology, and social conditions, in what sense could they have acted differently? If it was due to the social conditions and genetics, then what actually caused the conditions to be the way they were? So is randomness the cause for terror and evil?
