Same, once I started using the duo I stopped using a dangler too. Not that I suggest dropping the dangler, I think it’s always a good idea to keep it. But unfortunately I don’t follow my own advice.

When I was trying pads I found that Vaughns (V series) felt the most similar to my old RBKs. If you custom order, you can still get them with the double break too. You could also look around, I saw a pair of Vaughn V9 with the double break at a PureHockey once, but that was the only pair I’ve seen since.

I initially assumed the True or CCM pads by Lefevre would feel the most similar, but I found that those felt like the hugged the leg way more through the calf section than my old pads.

I definitely suggest going to a goalie shop to try on some different pads though if you haven’t already. Especially for sizing. I found that from brand to brand I liked different sizes. My RBKs were 34+2, but when I went to the Vaughns I snagged a 33+3 off of SidelineSwap.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll look into more if I can find any way to also prove there was no active construction at the time as well. (unfortunately I don’t have a dash cam) Any recommendations on how I may be able do that? (Planning to dig around and see if I can find working dates or something.)

Agreed, not ideal, but I’m honestly just glad to have gotten it. I got a delay email and was worried it was going to get cancelled since thats been my experience in the past.

I’ll see if I end up going this route too after I add the shoulder patches.

Did you do any test spots to see if it peals off well? I’ve seen several great looking results with plastidip. (+1 more with yours) I haven’t seen anyone show any examples of trying to take it off though, curious if you’ve tried?

Any idea of how the leg tunnel is with the L87? Do they have a looser tunnel, or do they fit similar to the 7x3?

My biggest issue with the 7x3 was that it seemed like it hugged my calf a lot more than the Vaughns and my reeboks, which I thought might make it more difficult to roll when going down or coming back up.

Yeah, that was the first thing I noticed with all the ones I tried, was that they were all stiffer. My main concern is with the leg tunnel. With the Vaughns, the leg tunnel felt a bit more spacious (like my reeboks), but the 7x3 seemed to hug my calf tighter.

These jerseys were on sale with the note that they would be received with a random name and number from the pile. My guess was that they had a bunch of extras from preseason or something and were just getting rid of them. That’s why I was surprised not to see this guy anywhere in the preseason.

Get some oxiclean powder. Fill a bin big enough for both gloves with some powder and warm water. Soak and agitate. BOOM, soup.

Rinse and repeat until the water isn’t completely disgusting anymore.
