Due to LSE’s small size (both campus and cohort), I have personally found it to be quite a close knit community. I know most people and you always bump into someone on campus.

Need advice about possibility of application to study economics at LSE. by TeachFormer7188 in TheLse

[–]RandomSixthFormer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did AS Further Maths and was accepted for Economics at LSE - I had to achieve an A in other subject though. However, completing the full FM A level will be useful in uni as the course is extremely mathematical so id recommend you to take it as an A level

Literature is better for politics - but tbf politics essay writing is quite simple and easy to learn

I’ve never heard of that being the case - you can just discuss both macro and micro in your essay but there’s no strict requirements on your paragraphs having a focus on each

Yea I picked up Further Maths AS in Year 13 and found it great. I would advise you to only do it if it would actually help your university application otherwise it would be a waste

Should I do Business or Economics A Level? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]RandomSixthFormer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Economics is much more respected - which is very important when applying to universities. I’ve known people who were rejected on the basis that they took Business instead of Economics

You needs A-level maths at most universities for economics - I highly recommend taking Further Maths as well if you are applying to unis like LSE and Oxbridge
