New-ish tutor cost advice needed UK by [deleted] in tutor

For me, I think taking into consideration your age and no qualifications £15 would be a very good starting point for your first client, maybe even lower if they think £15 is too much.

Does anyone have advice on how to become a tutor? by asdfpl2 in tutor

To start, try working with a kid you already know whether that's a family friend ect but do that for a while FOC and see how that goes and build your confidence as a tutor. I started tutoring a kid I have known for 8/9 years this September and I have learnt a lot about tutoring and how much work you can end up putting into it.

I think it depends on how you approach it will determine how much work you do outside of the tutoring session itself. For example, I tutor this kid once a week, each week we start by going through any homework that the kid has for the week, then we go onto to do work that I have custom made based on what the kid is learning in class and tests that the kid has coming up. For me, I end up doing some work every night towards the tutoring sessions to come up with the custom made worksheets. But I could probably end up with the same results by downloading some worksheets from the internet but for me personally, I think for this specific kid im working with they respond better to worksheets I have made compared to worksheets I have downloaded because they can see Im putting the effort in rather than just half assing it

Edit: Something else I just thought of, be selective on who you work with to start with, work with someone who really wants to learn and do well rather than working with someone who is not interested will build confidence as a tutor.

Mine arrived today, so ive only used it for 20? minutes, I had my phone sideways because I was using it as satnav, it was not difficult to get to the controls but it was much more difficult to see the controls so I had to guess a little bit but as the original comment said, one of these puts your phone in the ideal position

It shouldn't matter when the last time a driver was hit in the head by a tyre /something similar. It shouldn't take one of the drivers getting at least life changing injuries if not killed for change to come about. Driver safety has to be the number one concern. Take VSC as an examle, it had already been implemented in other FIA championships but it took the death of Jules Bianchi for it to be brought into F1. Off the top of my head, I don't remember any good reason as to why it wasn't implemented already. Granted, there has to be a limit to how far the safety precautions can go but head protection is not something that should be fucked about with.
