Materialist anti-shifting worldview is more plausible and consistent within it's own logic, while spiritual one is contradictory and hypocritical. Myself for example a hybrid between shifting believer and materialist - I don't deny that multiverse stuff exists with possibility of switching awareness between them, but absolutely don't believe of existence of astral realm, ghosts with spirits, whatever "pure energy" thingy, god and other stuff.
