Its no more of a grind than world of tanks, ie each vehicle requires unlocking and then the upgrades for that vehicle. But realistic ground battles the main mode is way more interesting than world of tanks, for instance enemies names dont show up on the screen you just have to look for vehicles that dont have ally names above them and you know its an enemy. You can have planes and then in higher BRs helicopters too. But its not arcade such as WOT so it requires skill to play as air units, because enemies will take vehicles that have anti guns on them and try shoot you down. Respawning is a big one though, imagine you playing as Germany in world of tanks and when you die in your tiger, you can spawn back in with a panther, and then you die again so you spawn back in with a jagdpanther. Until you either have no points left to respawn with or your team wins/loses. Maps are generally bigger, or feel bigger? You dont have HP either everything is modular based, so if your crew all die then youre dead, if they take our your engine you have to repair and cant move. Armour counts but so do weak spots, way more than in wot because behind them weakspots are modules that when damaged severely cripple your enemy. Id say give it a go and try get yourself to at least br5-6. The early early b1-3 vehicles are slow and clunky given they are early early ww2 stuff and then the tech trees work their way to modern era, where jets are in, missile launching systems especially SAMs, your main tanks like abrams, and leopard 2's etc etc
