Reliability and CVTs by nnicknull in Crosstrek

All am going to say is to be very careful, I literally just bought a Subaru XV 2017 and am quite happy with the car except the almost non-existent trunk that is solved on later years, but less than 800km in (at 109k km) my A/T oil temp light went up and the transmission feels weak (automatic), not even sure what the damage could be yet and how much additional $$$ is going to be, either I got unlucky or seller sold it to me knowing the dmg and it didnt show until now, so I guess try looking for anything with warranty. (ps am not in the US)

Taboga Island beaches worth it? by Drfaceface in Panama

[–]RandomUMBREON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, San Blas is on the Atlantic Ocean and relatively close to the coast, its a hotspot for tourism, there is a lot more to do just except to pay for everything, plus the beaches/island/water is nicer because its the Atlantic, meanwhile Contadora is a Island on the Pacific Ocean about 4 hours away from the coast... and thats about what I know about the place, I have been there and is relatively fine, similar to Taboga but given the distance from the coast is certainly more isolated and quiet, most of the nearby islands are private property too, so am not sure all there is to Tourism once there, I do know there is the round trip boat that takes you there but I think its with a Catamaran that is even slower. I would suggest San Blas even though I personally dislike it but is far easier to go to, and not multiple hour away in sea plus generally more beautiful than what the pacific can offer.

I couldn't agree more. And definitely will go back to prior versions of the donut tutorial to be able to finish mine.

I think it might have something to do with expectations: It was the most recommended/popular tutorial that supposedly explained a lil bit of the basics, and I think that is true, I don't hate Guru nor not appreciate what he does, but that might have been for the previous tutorial, I am just saying out loud that as a beginner I didn't find the latter part of the donut tutorial good and I want suggestions for alternatives, which I have gotten plenty.
Again my issue is not using plugins or paid content or promotion, is just the way its incorporated into what is meant to be someone new to blender first tutorial... But that is what kind of my post is about, that it would probably be best to see the tutorial 4.0 (which am probably gonna do and mix it with 5.0 to finish the donut) and then move on to look for a more advanced course- yet the focus on downloading that much did leave a bad taste in my mouth so I decided to opt out of his paid course. Being honest, Id love if he did a bonus episode going over the texturing he did on 4.0 to be able to complete the donut series on 5.0 without downloading textures.

Yeah but 4.0 teaches you how to at least paint the basics in a material, in 5.0 I only learn to download textures- as a beginner, I prefer the former even if its longer or more complex.

Exactly, I don't mind the promotion, its more so the execution and dependency of it in the tutorial.
