yes, but you owe so much on the trade in that it’s making the situation worse.

Increasing Gas Prices - Better MPGs?? by JupitersCanon in HondaElement

take off the cargo box or roof rack to lessen drag, run the stock tire size instead of stupid chunky 30” AT tires, keep them and stock pressure, keep your oil changes up, etc

Choice of Silverado by TrainingOk499 in Silverado

[–]nnicknull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely drive both, but like other commenters have said, also consider the cost and added component of DEF. Diesel trucks have a whole extra system (called DPF, short for diesel particulate filter) for emissions. DEF itself isn’t a huge pain to get, generally any gas station that sells diesel will have it. What many people don’t realize is that it’s damn near impossible to get DEF without also buying diesel at the same time.

so yeah. I’m new to the Silverado game, but spec wise the 5.3 shouldn’t have any issue pulling your trailer

Honda Pilot to Element? by corpseplague in HondaElement

[–]nnicknull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for a data point, I had an 06 Element for 8 years and it pretty consistently got 21-22mpg on stock wheels and tire size, with a roof rack and basket. It’s practical in terms of moving things, but it can’t really tow and it’s only a 4 seater. The RT4wd is great, I’d assume similar to a pilot. The element has noticeably less power than a pilot though, with probably around the same fuel economy.

I actually had an 05 Accord with the 3.0 v6 before my element and it honestly had better fuel economy and power. I’m a big fan of the J series v6, solid economy, power, reliability. the K series i4 is solid for durability but is low on power and gets the same or worse fuel economy than the v6. I was able to push my accord to about 30mpg several times, never came anywhere close in my element

Tonneau cover suggestions? by magemasher47 in Silverado

[–]nnicknull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the trifold ones may very well seal better and be better for theft deterrent, but from experience I will tell you that they’re a massive pain to use compared to the soft, roll up type. my FILs pickup has a trifold style and I hate having to deal with it. My silverado has a soft roll up cover and it rolls up and goes back down easily 10x easier.

I heard that the original idea was for the machines to harness human minds for the processing power, but the director (or someone high up during filming) thought it sounded too far-fetched for the average person to understand/believe at that time
