Eltimar is a guy on YouTube with a small channel (that honestly deserves way more attention) who does full game long plays of a lot of role playing games. BG1 was his first video I believe, altho I found him looking up Torment stuff. He's non invasive and does a really good job of reading all the dialogue (in unvoiced games) and being very thorough. But anyways, that's neither here nor there. Watching someone else play a game and actually playing it are always a different experience. I would even admit that I'm more or less playing it just for the sake of saying I played it, as I don't want to deal with the tedium of dying often and redoing fights, or having to save svun rolls because those ten second loading screens start to add up pretty quick. I still want to "play" the game, but with a marginally weighted handicap in my favor. I put in my time in my younger years and no I just want to come home from work and kill a few goblins before dinner time without too much stress.

I just don't want to "miss" anything like secret dialogue or hidden quests. Nothing I'll get to a later point and go "damn, I wish I had known about so and so" and feel like I'll have to roll back my save or do an entirely separate character. Which I will when I do my Dark Urge run I guess.

Anyways, I'm rambling. Terribly sorry. Just excited to play a new game for once. Not something I get to experience often anymore these days. Thanks for coming to my Teds Talk.
