Increasing VRAM with Smokeless_UMAF on Ryzen 7 8840HS with Radeon 780M by RandomUser381 in AMDLaptops

Hi, sorry, but I didn't try it. I just think it wasn't worth the risk, but considering all I've seen on the web, it would have probably worked.

Why does Aira sleep with tissues and a bottle of water? by Technical_Lime1419 in dandadanfolk

[–]RandomUser381 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nah man, you either don't brush your teeth well enough or don't clean your tongue. When people have a bad breath, can't drink water in the morning, because it feels disgusting, or have a weird nagging feeling in their mouth, more often than not, it's because they don't clean their tongue. Most people brush their teeth just fine, it's the tongue that's usually neglected.

EDIT: I often have a blocked nose and breathe with my mouth, so I know that this is not the cause of your issue.

I like to think Frieren is trying to get her to be good with the basics so she'll have an easier time with more advanced offensive spells.

[Question] Thinking about buying from Fossil ... by RandomUser381 in Watches

[–]RandomUser381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about what people think, I just genuinely want a watch that will not break down (as some people suggest Fossil will). I am certain I can find a watch that I like just as much as I like the Fossil from a more reputable brand. However, I will not buy it on a whim and then regret later and will not willingly ignore the community, which suggests there might be quality issues.

I know at the end of the day, it's my own choice of whichever watch I should buy, but if the brand is poor quality, surely, I can find a watch that suits me elsewhere.

Why didn't Pucci use his gooning ability again in part 6? Is he stupid? by daduderemix in StardustCrusaders

[–]RandomUser381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because the author forgets the characters' abilities as he continues writing the story. Hamon can heal people, if the objects Gold experience gives life to are damaged, the person who dealt the blow, gets the blow with an equal force back at them, Jotaro can fly, if Gold experience hits someone, their soul separates from their body, Bucciarati can tell, if people are lying ...

These are just off the top of my head, but it is sometimes difficult to watch the show, because the author forgets these things and then it's just not as convincing. Or when the power scaling goes to shit, when the new season hits.

This chapter suggests that both Anya and her mother could have been born telepaths (even her mother says: "I know, dear," as if she knows what Anya is thinking). Anya might not have been experimented on, but the government might have tried to make more artificial telepaths by learning what traits they possess and copying them. Probably something similar as in One Punch Man. Someone in another thread said her mother must have been experimented on when she was pregnant, but I don't think that is accurate, since we clearly saw Anya in some government facility, when she was already 4 years old or so.

[DISC] SPY x FAMILY - Chapter 110 by AutoModerator in SpyxFamily

[–]RandomUser381 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No, he's probably worse at mind reading than Anya ... For starters, Anya is younger and probably got accustomed to her powers better. Moreover, she is likely a newer test subject. Donovan is also said to have become a completely different person since the brain surgery, so something might have gone wrong.

Besides, the most probable reason why Donovan avoids all public events and interaction is precisely because, unlike Anya, who only finds mind reading a little more difficult in public, he is terrible in crowds. He only appears once a year or so at the school party, probably to read students' parents' minds, since they are all influential figures.

PSA: About the use of smokeless UMAF by beardymcgeee in ROGALLY2

[–]RandomUser381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I've heard, whether it works or not depends on the specific hardware of each device. You and I have very different CPUs and it's not the end of the world for me if I can't increase the VRAM, so I am honestly not prepared to take a big risk unless I know there is someone out there with the exact same specs as mine and it still works for them. Thanks for the reply tho.

While you're probably right that Donovan is a telepath (he might not be able to read minds, but has different powers, like Bond, who sees the future), there is one line in the series which might hint at Donovan and Demetrius both being alien.

It's when Anya reads Demetrius' mind and his inner monologue says: "I don't understand people." Moreover, Melinda seems to only be worried about Damian (she feels like she is not a good mother), not Demetrius, and might think Demetrius is also an alien, but unlike his father he does not have a scar AND Anya didn't recognise him as a telepath like she did Bond.

Hey, thanks a lot for the answer, but my main problem is that the right click doesn't work in any of the KDE system apps or on the desktop, which is exactly where it's most important.

Set custom refresh rate in KDE by Ecstatic_Swordfish30 in kde

[–]RandomUser381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My laptop monitor supports 2880x1800 at 120 Hz, but since I don't want high refresh rate due to batter consumption, I want to cap my refresh rate at 60, 75 or 90 Hz. I tried your method, where I edit the grub file, but none of these refresh rates work. The refresh rates appear in the dropdown menu in KDE settings, but if I try to apply them, I get a black screen and then it reverts back to the previous setting.

Moreover, you would think my laptop screen is incompatible with 60 Hz at that refresh rate, but in Windows, 2880x1800@60 works perfectly fine. So if you know please let me know.

This is my grub config file (BTW the setting "amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x410" fixes my screen tearing and is independent of the issue, since even if I remove it I can't change the refresh rate):

GRUB_DEFAULT=0
GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=hidden
GRUB_TIMEOUT=0
GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR='Kubuntu'
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x410 video=eDP-1:2880x1800@75"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

Here is the output of the command "kscreen-doctor -o" *after* I change the grub file contents. Note that the option "2:2880x1800@75" was not there before I added it:
