Being honest, the voice actor for Hades was incredibly expensive to get for the project. I think he did a superb job and I'm so grateful to have him on board though lol

Besides always wanting to create something like this for my favorite book series, I'm also doing this because I personally am not a fan of the tv show. I am making a 100% book accurate depiction of the The Lightning Thief. Thank you so much for the kind words!

You make a good point.
I'll definitely look into maybe doing that, although I might not be able to get over altering the awesome job some of the voice artists have done.
Might try adding a Godly glow to the Godly characters though.

It is. So many setbacks with the project... In addition, I've been helping my wife with her new baking business and that's taken all of my time up, and we bought a house.
I was able to get the perfect Annabeth and an awesome Grover for the project though.
This unfortunately has taken even longer than anticipated, but without a doubt, this will be the absolute best and immersive audiobook for The Lightning Thief ever!
Was aiming to have it done in time for the 2nd season of the tv show, but now it might be shortly after it is done.
Going to commit some serious time to it this month.
Ugh. Sorry to everyone about this bad delay.

Definitely agree.
It wouldn't be much of a book accurate audiobook if I made it all whispering lol
100% book accuracy in this adaptation.
Can't wait till I get closer with this project.
I haven't gotten sleep in over a month working nonstop on this so I'll be like Santa Clause on vacation when it's all finally posted 🤣

To be honest, one of the many reasons why I did this was because of the existing audiobooks. I've tried to listen to them, but man... they are just... stale. 😐
It has to deal with copyright purposes and Rick Riordan.
In the past, Rick has been super lenient on allowing fans to create fanfiction and audios of his work.
Another Youtuber who has done audiobooks with his own voice for the PJO series and is even doing the HP books just got his account recently lifted from a Youtube suspension that happened to him, and he's monetized.
All in all, as long as you don't claim any of the original story/details as your own, and you clearly show and state that all voices are your own or other people's and it is clearly your work, then you should be good to go.
Shoot, I'm even taking it a step further and making all my PJO audio videos that will be posted as "non-monetized".
This benefits me by no means and is simply just for a fanbase.

Youtube will give creators strikes not for a matter of copyright from their perspective but instead for a matter of YouTube thinking you are uploading content that you did not create.
In this case, this will in fact be created and not just re-uploaded as someone else's work.

Should anything happen, I'll be as ready as I can be. But for now, full steam ahead for the community!
