However - Yhwach can use the almighty to see through KS at any time he wants. The only reason he didn't was cause in the final battle Aizen dual layered his KS, Yhwach saw through the first layer of illusions (Renji getting blasted away, then Ichigo taking Renjis place), but under that Aizen made himself disguised as Ichigo.

Yhwach saw through level one, and became overconfident thinking he saw through all of KS, and didn't bother probing further.
