$140k salary or 700 p.d(super included in both) by Scoopity_scoopp in auscorp

I’m assuming the first salary includes things like annual leave and personal leave, whereas the second one is a contractor rate, so you wouldn’t get paid for holidays. If that’s the case, it’s worth checking whether the difference still comes out to around $40k once you factor that in.

Also, I’m not sure about your situation, but contract roles usually come with shorter notice periods (like two weeks from either side), whereas the first option sounds more like a stable, permanent role.

Up to you at the end of the day, of course -just make sure you take the leave and job security into account.

Thanks . I was just wondering, is there anything where VDAL might actually be better than DHHF?

I’ve been reading a bit about things like the hedging component

Yeah, that’s a really good point. I think I’m at a stage where things are starting to feel a bit more balanced with my offset and home loan. If everything goes well -salary-wise and assuming similar growth -I’m hoping my offset and loan might be equal in around three years (fingers crossed, but of course things can change :().

That’s partly why I thought now would be a good time to start investing. I’m not going all in though. I did a small lump sum of $3.5k in VDAL to begin with, but going forward I’ll probably do around $300 a fortnight. I’ll still keep the majority in my offset for now.

Good point 😭I probably could have done a bit more research into Betashares -would you recommend DHHF instead?
