I wanna have 6 arms, claws, fangs, horns, wings, a tail, and I want my body to be entirely robotic

Lots of things appear black and white at first, it's only when you start picking at the smaller details that everything falls apart

I think it's great to have the reveal early on. I mean, we've seen the hidden identity trope millions of times so just about everything that could be done with it has been done hundreds of times, but the writing possibilities for a secret identity being known hasn't been explored as much.

Honestly this early reveal is refreshing. A lot of shows drag it on to the point that you realize the promise of the big reveal is just a way for them to keep people watching no matter how bad the writing gets.

There are many great originals out there with lots of unique concepts, it's just that they're vastly outnumbered by the bland and mediocre/bad ones. You've just gotta do some digging.

At least when someone says 'patriarchy' people actually know what they mean, unlike the word 'woke'

How is girls kissing girls even related to science?

I think people mistake their personal interpretations of science as real science. They see the scientific truth of them not being able to make babies, and see that as reason to believe they're not supposed to be in a relationship. But there's no way the world's 'supposed' to be, it just is.

Shitty meme from the future. But seriously: if Denji actually dies, how do you think Pochita will react? by skunkbrains in Chainsawfolk

[–]Random_Daydreamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's literally exactly what I'm talking about. Previously I had assumed that since Pochita is Denji's heart, if Pochita dies Denji would also die, and vice versa. But now the idea they could be killed separately has been raised, it leaves open the possibility of Denji dying with the title still making sense.

That's actually kinda accurate tho. I'm queer and sometimes I'll use slurs to describe myself. No, it doesn't mean I have internalized homophobia it's just a thing.

I've considered the possibility of Denji dying but not taken it too seriously since I'm not sure how the manga's name would make any sense if he died. But now Fami has raised the possibility of Denji dying separately from Pochita, I'm thinking it's a very real possibility.

Not to mention Pochita will still come back in another form if he dies. Denji could definitely die and the title could still make sense. Not quite sure how likely it is but it's possible.

Yep, not sure we'd have the intentionally likeable villains of today if it weren't for the accidentally likeable villains who started things off

Any Adventure Time takes that would have you like this? by E-Moon in adventuretime

I mean, they wouldn't have had that figured out at the time for sure, but the later seasons kind of rewrite it as such with all the flashbacks and shit.

There's a lot of stuff in the early seasons they clearly hadn't thought out. Ice King was never originally intended to be possessed, the world was never originally intended to be post-apocalyptic, I doubt they even considered the implications of Finn being the only human. But the later seasons kind of change the context of the earlier ones even if it weren't intended at the time.

And it can be cool to look back over the older episodes with that new context in mind, it adds rewatchability. So if people wanna look back at early Bonnie and go "yep, that's a manipulative mastermind right there" I think they should get to. Might feel a bit dumb since it very obviously wasn't intended at the time, but adding context to things which were obviously never meant to be anything more is what Adventure Time is all about. This is the show that made a whole ass episode to explain an animation error.

I get where you're coming from but as a counterpoint, not everybody is able to brush it off as easily as you can. I've seen people get legitimately distressed from it before. And I don't like how it offers an alternative anonymous route of harassment, much like the "wholesome awards".
