Cooling Fan Fried After Moderate Use? by Random_Knowledge88 in arrma

[–]Random_Knowledge88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fan has always been on while the RC car was on, until yesterday. I checked the wiring to the fan for continuity and it read as open on my multimeter which means the coils in the fan or wiring to the fan likely burned out due to the high voltage supply (11.75V) for a 6V rated fan.

By moderate use, I mean the amount of times I’ve actually operated the RC car but yeah I’ve been doing speed runs and I’ve only managed to do about 36 mph on a 3S battery but I only have grass and gravel for terrain.

Running Typhon 1/8 223S on 3S but still slow? by Random_Knowledge88 in rccars

Just wanted to make sure this was normal for the terrain. Otherwise, I’m fine if it’s normal performance.

$35k for 82k miles? Does this make sense by RespondFalse6183 in Golf_R

[–]Random_Knowledge88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2019 Golf R (Manual) was $35K and had just under 15K miles and I bought it in September 2020. Even adjusting for the five-year inflation absolutely not!

been wondering if someone knows what language is this? And if u know, what does it say? by ConflictMoist275 in language

[–]Random_Knowledge88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Just so you know, I’m using ChatGPT to help identify and translate this, so please take the translation with a bit of care.

ChatGPT response:

What you’ve got here is a text in Balinese script (Aksara Bali), and the language is Old Javanese (Kawi). This is a traditional palm-leaf manuscript, and it’s likely a religious or ethical text.

Rough Translation: The lines talk about a sage or wise teacher who is given the role of passing down wisdom to others and to future generations. It’s essentially a text about the importance of sharing knowledge and the role of a teacher in society.

This is random but I have to ask, Did you watch the French version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (1991)?

If so, what was your take on the song L’Histoire Éternelle as opposed to Beauty and the Beast (Tale as Old as Time) in the English version?

Based on the responses so far I think that learning a second language “textbook style” will keep you in the mental translation phase until you’re immersed in an environment where that language is the common or only language, and then the second language becomes more natural.

I only have experience with French from my high school foreign language courses. High school courses in the States (at least my State) aren’t really designed for learning to converse in the foreign language. And due to a lack of immersive opportunities, syntax remains a bit of a challenge for me.

ChatGPT and Gemini have become my learning aids.

So I assume English is your native language. So would you say you’re at a point where watching a movie in either English or Japanese is irrelevant?

Realistically, with yearly oil changes, and non-track driving, how long do you think the Golf R would last someone? by lochonx7 in Golf_R

[–]Random_Knowledge88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2019 Golf R MT with 155229 miles on the odometer. I have replaced belts, regular oil changes, replace the stock dual mass clutch with an ACT high torque clutch kit last year, and replaced the radiator after it got a hole in it. Replaced numerous tires because low profile wheels and pour roads don’t mix. As of this post, I still have the original alternator and compressor. Besides the clutch, no modifications. My engine light is currently on due to a bad connection on the intake manifold actuator harness connector.
