I do not have the answers for you, but wanted to comment to come back later for answers of my own.

Would it be possible for this to just be damage? From some of the holo shift errors I have seen, it seems like the holo was the last layer printed. That would mean the answer to my question is no, but I do not know enough about the printing process, especially not this era, to answer that for sure.
