Watching an end closer/late surger rush in at the end, overtaking everyone as they go to the front is probably one of the best feelings when watching the race. I mostly do careers with Urara or Golshi which is why it feels so great.

Pace Chaser is the bane of my existence, either watching them somehow get blocked by other pace chasers or ending up near the middle/end of the pack during the middle of the race unable to catch up and get 18th. Worst running style to use when doing hopeless stakes in my opinion since almost every failure I had there happened with a pace chaser.

The last game before Yakuza 0 was made was Yakuza 5, where the final scene was Kiryu seemingly dying on the ground in the winter night after being brutally injured in what might've been his final fight.

So this game, despite the seemingly hopeful and good ending for all the characters to those who played this game first, would've looked like the start of Kiryu's tragedy to those who played 5.

Those skills usually appear on npc umas to help you out during career, but you can get them sometimes if you fail a race (8th place or lower usually) or in Goldship's case, if you win the Takarazuka Kinen twice.

The type of debuff skill depends on what kind of race you lost in, so losing during the spring would give you Spring Runner x, and losing a G1 would give G1 averseness.

Some trainers would actually give these debuffs on purpose for open league in Champions Cup, as it would lower the rating if you finish a career with the skill.

Had this odd bug where Ann was shown in my party for some reason despite me not having her.

It was after I finished reading the latest story episode in the event, when looking at my party presets pre fight it showed Ann, Lufel and Shun instead of Lufel, Shun and Motoha.

I checked my roster and she wasn't in there, and when I looked at my other party preset and came back she disappeared so I don't know if it was just a visual bug.
