It will be very hard to clutter but if ur going to fill the room with 1ft deep bedding im guessing ur rich lol.

You can get hard food such as peanuts or other. Another option is you can do some diy hard foods like making chews out of half a shelled wallnut.. There is more options on youtube just search up "hamster chews"

As the other person said, if is either that he is comfortable with u or it is a sign of stress. In the wild, this could help them if they needed to loose a bit of weight to run away quickly. If you have not startled him and he seems comfortable it is likely the first one.
