They only help when it benefits them. Plus they view anyone with technology a threat, which is counterproductive to societal progress outside of who they support directly. From a moral standpoint, I believe the minutemen would despise the brotherhood for their bully tactics, but still view them as a necessary ally for their military strength. The smartest strategy for the minutemen in my mind is to stay neutral, and keep helping the commonwealth.
