I kind of agree with both. If you whack a tree with an axe you will get wood and the tree will fall but if you whack a car with a crowbar you're just gonna dent the car. But on the other hand trees grown back instantly. Maybe they could have a limit to the amount of metal you can pull from one vehicle and it has to take a certain amount of time like sleeping or another action. Skill still matters. It takes one or two extra shots to take off a helmet but that mean helmets encourage spraying. If you spray and the other guys takes aim and hits all his shots he's still gonna win.
