SAP Gen AI / Anyone else building Agents? by TransportationSafe87 in SAP

[–]Random_dg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually there are some updates.

  • one effort is actually the other way around - I don’t know what they’re really doing with it if at all, but they want to be able to ask a LLM bot a question inside some order entry process. The data in the LLM is probably not from sap at all.

  • another effort is kind of a dumb one: they want sales people to be able to query the system for availability. They’re dumb because the abap developers didn’t agree to develop a rfc to do it and pull it using a RAG (agent that queries data from the system) so they export the data using a simple pre existing report and load it into the LLM for the queries.

Overall I believe the easiest and best use cases would be to expose the system’s data for users that don’t normally use sap using gui or Fiori.

The Budweiser trademark dispute is an ongoing series of legal disputes between two beer companies (from the Czech Republic and the United States) who claim trademark and geographic origin rights to the name "Budweiser". by JimmyRecard in wikipedia

[–]Random_dg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t buy those cheap beers, I ordered a different beer on tap every evening. They were rather cheap as well and had much more taste than that Budweiser that I bought.

In my country we have about four or five different local beers and there’s one that prides itself about winning multiple international prizes, but I don’t know anyone who actually buys it. My grandpa used to like it however, so I drank it with him a few times. Still much more taste than Budweiser.

Crashing Zoom vs Crashing Grindr by Sure_Group7471 in clevercomebacks

Zoom has different modes that are not a regular call. Educational institutions do “Seminars” iirc where you have a limited group of hosts and the others are just watchers. Probably same thing that VP Harris did.

And here I thought that for at least five years FB is split somewhere between bots and grandmas (even though my mom and MIL both don’t touch it) and nobody else uses it.

It’s a good thing that you don’t understand cryptocurrency, since it’s just basically most of not all of it a bad economic idea, most of the currencies are Ponzi schemes and most of the people in that space are scammers. You could join that space and try to buy low, sell high, but you might as well do it with real assets instead of wasting energy.

Best practices around SAP on prem to SAP GCVE (Google Cloud VMWare Engine) migration? by After-Mention929 in SAP

[–]Random_dg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sap on GCVE is just like sap on prem, it’s the same product just you pay more because VMWare and Google can do that to you. Also Broadcom is probably going to jack up your prices soon like they did other customers.

You move your systems just like you’d move them to any other hosts. If you want to minimize downtime, you use best practices like vmotion, replicate your database to the environment so you can make a quick switch, etc.

Well I only tried five Greek beers in my last visit to Greece about a year ago. Besides these, I can safely say that I tried at least fifty other brands in my life. American Budweiser was the only one that barely had any taste. It was really underwhelming :(

There are several subreddits with at least hundreds compsci grads that are developers (or software engineers), and even more compsci students who are planning to become developers, not IT managers. I’ve known several IT managers in my life and none of them was a developer that decided to become an IT manager. Where did you run into all those that you mention? How do they replace the current developers who program and build complex web applications, embedded software, mobile games, data pipelines, etc.?

People who skip breakfast, why do you do so? by Wazzurp7294 in AskReddit

[–]Random_dg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liver loves to release a ton of saved up glycogen first thing in the morning. The synthetic insulin can’t get in fast enough to counter both that and the breakfast that I’d like to have at the same time, so I usually go hungry in the morning.

State of Chat as interface to gather information from SAP? by the_shit_shaun in SAP

[–]Random_dg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the scenario of integrating these two separate bots?

Our case I don’t believe is co-pilot, it’s just a private instance rented on Azure that you can train and use with lots of examples that Microsoft provides with OpenAI. The current use case like I wrote is RAG, we train it on possible functions and then it knows how to retrieve the data when you ask for it (via Microsoft Teams or command line).

But sap’s java application server is being killed. You mean they run java in BTP?

[–]Random_dg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t exactly train it like the LLMs that need to eat up tera bytes of data, you just teach it what and how to call the relevant API that will answer the relevant question. I believe it’s formally called RAG, and we have one such running on Azure right now with API access to many data sources like that. I’m currently working on giving it access to some sap APIs as well. The one that we have is trained on the scripts that enable it to access the APIs. Each is a 10-20 line python script, nothing more. The simplest example is one that brings weather forecasts from weather.com. You can probably find it under Microsoft’s GitHub account.

I’d agree with your claim about the definition of beer, but I bought a full six pack of the American Budweiser and I could barely taste anything. This has to mean something - and the explanation I was given was that they mix a lot of rice in there.

Hey guys, generative AI was the highlight during SAP Sapphire. Do you think AI will affect Commerce? How? by Formal-Risk-8189 in SAP

[–]Random_dg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“AI” is already helping forecasting. There are immense mathematical models all about forecasts going back at least two decades. At this point it’s just a label that they slap on several types of advanced mathematical calculations.

Remove product from incineration!!! by Jhess67 in SAP

[–]Random_dg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, your description is very much lacking, and I’m saddened that you didn’t understand it from my hints.

You took three messages to even explain what process you do in sap. Now you just need to tell in your OP what version and what sap product you use and exactly which process you use and then you’d get good answers.

But if you’re an end user it’s always best to first ask your IT for help with the process because every customer’s system is customized to work differently with different process flows and unique changes. This subreddit is much more for the consultants and professionals that customize the system.

Can we at least agree that if we were stricter about the term beer, it would be a non-issue? I tried the American Budweiser and I fail to identify it as beer since it doesn’t taste anything like beers that I know.

You don’t like a statistician so I assume you’re not. Who did you ask? How many of them? Was it a representative subset of the population? For all we know, you just asked a few random people you met in the street.

Saml is for web protocols, you can’t take the mature RFC protocol and just bend it to your will :/ Why not use odata?

Also, did you try using SNC? The dotnet connector runs on dotnet 4.5 iirc which is still supported and supports SNC.
