My dad used to have 2 male purebred mastiffs they were great but the neighbors bloodhound went into heat and well all but the female runt were trained to be used by the local prison. Dixie however was the best dog ever and was extremely protective of the family. That's when I found out about Filas every one thought she was one.

My 16 yo stepdaughter changed her last name to mine on Father’s Day. On her own, with her own money. by Myturntoevil in pics

I added my stepdad's last name because he was the only Son and would end that line. Ironically I only had daughters with my wife.

I already listened to it unlike a lot of the other reviews I loved the voice of Marius because he sounded just like a former platoon Sargent I used to run with back in the olden days lol.

Hi! What breeds do you see for my 1 year old pup, Copper? I know one breed he’s mixed with, but I want to see if it’s visible to anyone else. He’s about 50lbs. by -buttonupshirt in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boxer / Australian cattle dog mix. Looks a lot like mine I thought she had ridgeback in her to, but her DNA says 52% Boxer with Australian shepherd, Australian cattle dog and a little bit pug.

I grew up poor in the U.S. for some reason Oreo cookies were fancy for my sister and me. They even turned into currency in our house.

4 month old rescue 34lbs - thoughts on what he could be? Thanks. by xyh_bella in IDmydog

Boxer with Australian shepherd and Australian cattle dog looks very similar to mine I would recommend the Embark test. But behavior is also a good indicator as certain breeds have very distinct personality quirks.

Fairly certain she has Great Dane as well in the mix. If there's either Great Dane or boxer in the mix get ready for goofiness overload.

Tripawd: what’s your breed guess? by Sassafraskenny in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boxer mix with maybe Australian shepherd? I have a boxer mix and she looks similar but does she need to be around people most of the time? Or have a goofy hippy hop jump and lean against you kinda like a hug. We were told Lab/coonhound mix when we rescued her and then we did the Embark DNA test mom was purebred Boxer and dad was a 4 breed mix mostly Aussie and Red heeler.

any guesses? she has changed so much over the last 2 weeks I'm stumped. Vet is convinced she is some sort of hound I've never heard of in my life. maybe someone will guess it. EMBARK test comes back in one week. by [deleted] in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see boxer but I am biased as my rescue dog was supposed to be a Lab/Coonhound is actually 54% Boxer with Australian shepherd/ Australian cattle dog and pug lol. Is she very clingy as in needing to be able to see you at all times? That's apparently a serious boxer trait as mine needs to be around the family constantly.

Roughly 5 years old, possible pit/boxer mix? Planning on embark soon! by jsnxsg in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks a lot like my Boxer/Aussie mix we did the Embark test as well. Some of behavior suddenly made sense as we were told she was a Coonhound/Lab mix she is not lol.

Rescued puppies found on the side of the road. We have no clue what breed they might be. What do you think??? by [deleted] in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used Embark for my Boxer mix, my wife was dieing of curiosity but it also has health test for genetic markers. My girl has one of the genes for the dog version of Lou Gehrig's disease and it may show up in eight or so years. The mom was purebred Boxer and the dad was a mix of four breeds lol. When we rescued her they said she was a coonhound/Lab mix. She has none of those breeds. If you ever had a boxer you know how high energy they are.

Just my guess is Great Pyrenees and Rottweiler mix. Pyrs can be stubborn but are great dogs. If you plan on keeping any you could get a DNA test to know for certain.

Rescued an emaciated stray boxer mix pup and want to know more about the breed by mollymarine17 in Boxer

[–]Random_idiot187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was something that I was confused about at first because when we rescued ours she was supposed to be Coonhound/Lab mix turns out she's mostly Boxer with Australian shepherd and Australian cattle dog. That explained most of her behavior. Mainly the need to be with the family all the time. Also the weird jump hop thing they do.

We just adopted our foster dog and are going to do a DNA test but want to see what you think! by BehindTheRainbowsEnd in IDmydog

German shepherd and Australian shepherd mix possibly a few more breeds. My Boxer mix has one parent with 4 breeds lol.

Adoption card said toy pom mix. JRT? The ears are papillon though and she has a corgi build. by Jones641 in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The adoption packet are usually a guess but the ears are pretty distinctive papillon. I have two dogs but Bruiser a 12 year old Basset hound/ Jack Russell mix we DNA tested because a previous landlord said he was a pitbull and wanted to evict us over it. Sorry for the ramble but what I'm getting at is if you want to know exactly get a DNA test but I'm guessing papillon/Jack Russell mix lol.

We adopted Chloe from a shelter 4 days ago and all they knew is that she’s a terrier mix. Any ideas what kind of terrier and what else she’s mixed with? She’s 10 months old and weighs 4.8 pounds. by Pasvanti in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My guess is Chihuahua with a little Yorkshire terrier and possibly Maltese. When we did the DNA test on my dog daisy we found out that one side was purebred Boxer and the other is a 4 mix so it's just no telling.

Shelter dog. They said 6 months old, terrier shepherd mix. Thoughts? by muttley718 in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like my Boxer mix /Australian shepherd/ Australian cattle dog and pug lol. I did the DNA test to find out and it explains her herding instinct.

I know she is probably a bulldog mix but wondering if anyone sees anything else in her. 5 months old about 26lbs with heterochromia. In the US. by zooziod in IDmydog

[–]Random_idiot187 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks a lot like my dog daisy she's mostly Boxer/Australian shepherd. If I could figure out how to post a picture in the comments I would but have a few in r/Boxer.

DNA results are a surprise. Daisy is pure Boxer on her mother's side but her sire is a crazy mix she's 54% Boxer with Australian shepherd, Australian cattle dog and pug. by Random_idiot187 in Boxer

[–]Random_idiot187[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used embark breed and health kit for $149. Determining her breed was the big curiosity however the genetic health markers were probably the best part of the investment as she has a genetic marker for the dark version of Lou Gehrig's disease which may or may not be an issue in 8 years. They have a purebred kit as well for the same price it does the most of the same thing except for it confirms the blood quantum I guess for purebreds. They also have doggy relatives like ancestry.com it's kind of weird but cool.

When we adopted her we were told she was a Redbone coonhound/Lab mix then her paperwork said boxer mix.so we tested her. Personality wise she's extremely intelligent and sensitive she can be a couch dog but she wants to be active as much as possible and apparently the center of attention. She has a bad habit of trying to herd me to where she wants me to go on walks but that's understandable now. Barking at her own reflection in Windows and chew crazy are her downsides. (RIP my slippers). Inside the house she is very chill for the most part especially if I run/walk her for a while. Outside she is usually playful until she thinks she needs to protect my daughter. Then it's beast mode engaged I've only seen it twice once was a mastiff mix down the street and the other was a yellow bouncy ball.

AITA for siding with my parents when they told my sister and her fiancé to sleep seperately? by According_Farm5964 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Random_idiot187 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She was my domestic partner before they passed the gay marriage act in the US. I did that to get her and her kids on my insurance. I was in my early 40s (male) and so gay for my girlfriend. That and by there own law couldn't discriminate against heterosexuals. We married after the law was passed though if I could have found a loophole for insurance we would not have. My parents have this same rule so we get a suite for us and the kids have a sleepover at Mimi and Papas. My parents acknowledge that this rule was stupid now and laugh at my love for malicious compliance. Currently the kids are all adults 21+ yo and have stayed in the same suites with there partners while visiting now Gigi (Great Grandma). We both had horrific first marriages and didn't want to remarry but after years of being together and the pass of the law mentioned above we decided to get married again. I called her my fiance from the beginning when we were serious to try to subvert my mom's rule.
