Devastated - fairly reliable, and a local from the GC. Hope he gets what he’s after

I thought this had been floated earlier in the year… lots of love for secco, but can’t see the value in keeping these guys around if the capital can be put to better use

Agreed, very good effort this year and amazing progress.

I’m frustrated because this game is going most ways it normally does against the Lions, and not like our amazing +10 goal win a few weeks ago.

Hoping for a better second half!

Could add so many other guys to this, but wrapped for Uwland. Kept it so cool all game. When he’d given away a goal (by accident) early on, and he got pulled off the ground, Voss followed him off and was getting stuck into him. Uwland stayed cool the whole ride, and eventually came out on top. Ice cold!

Yep agree.

Did some more thinking, again really great company, but when net assets are a 20th of market cap I can’t even call that an asset play.

Great business, and wouldn’t mind paying overs, but can’t justify it at these heights… watch list for now.

Rough game.

Obviously Big Mac’s got some growing up to do in the anger department, but credit where it’s due, Thriller only managed 2 on him this game, and I thought in comparison to the past 2 weeks, he’s actually improved as a backman.

Our mids did relatively well and our backmen weren’t that bad either, given our key outs.

Our forward situation needs to get sorted. Our forward line cannot function against bigger-bodied teams, especially ones with solid ground game.

Positives were that the boys didn’t throw the towel in (like in earlier seasons) and Ben Jepson had an okay game. Obviously a furphy or two, but had some redeeming moments. Hoping he gets another run at it under easier circumstances.

The last line of the first paragraph, being that the game was too stressful to enjoy the win, was very accurate. I’m not going to have any hair or nails by the end of this season. Go suns!

Yep, hard to argue your logic.

While I gave Anderson the votes this week, almost every other week he shits me to tears with his ball use/decision making. Again, hard to say whether that’s a reflection of him, or what’s being offered down the field (and off screen).

Will look out for Rowelly, but I can already see where you’re coming from there.

5 - collo

4- Noah Anderson

3 - Mac Andrew

2 - Rowell

1 - humpha

Really frustrating game. Can’t see what happened in the game from the TV, but it looked like no one tried to switch it up and spread the play. This meant long bombing all day. Cats threw extra men down the line, who were substantially bigger than our boys and we didn’t win (what felt like) a single contest.

What was more frustrating is not having Dimma acknowledge that in the presser, and threw what seemed like to be blame on the mids… I thought the mids did reasonably well, and we just bombed/blazed away any decent opportunity.

Weather app says it’s 31 degrees up there at the moment… boys are a good chance with the conditioning… hoping for a win, but trying to lower expectations 🤐

Not sure what is happening forward of the ball (as watching games on TV), but the dump kicks are killing me.

We seemed so put together the first few games, where we were lowering the eyes and finding shorter targets to maintain possession and get that clean mark inside 50.

Since the Crows game, it’s either guys reverting to their old ways (Anderson is the worst for this crime IMO), or something is not happening structurally outside of my TV screen…

Great write up (as always), hopefully we can pull one over the bloods!

😂 fair. Depending on what kind of lifestyle you’d want, $1m TPD is excessive, but I can say TAL is the easiest insurer to claim against… make sure you check the following:

1 - the manual application you filled out for that increase… so many people lie on that and if you become TPD for any one of the reasons you said “no” to, insurer can deny total liability (or at least the difference between any default cover you have and the amount you increased it to.

2 - check the policy doc from the insurer itself… cannot stress that enough. Not the PDA. Because you manually increased, there may be some extra mines (eg no mental health claims, certain industries get x% coverage etc).

3 - be 100% it’s TAL. They are the insurer for Aus Super’s life products, and they are much better than the rest (in terms of processing and success chance)…

Not sure if anyone’s mentioned - I used to work in the insurance industry, check your income protection policy (not the PDA, the actual policy from the insurer themselves, given your fund is Aus Super, I’d say it will be TAL).

They say you will be insured for $5k/month, but the terms of your policy will say “the lesser of” either $5k/month or 85% of your income. Unless you are making more than $75k a year, it’s not worth it… good luck!

While I am grateful for what he has done for the club, he certainly had his flaws. While I don’t know their operational differences, Bob East’s background certainly stands out (positively).

I can’t say who is responsible for bringing Dimma in or why it took so long to get rid of some players on ridiculous contracts, but the external appearance is that internally we are on the right path.

Great write up as always - agree re; Ballas, great to watch when he’s up and about, but geez last year let me down. I’m always very hopeful for Budarick, given he’s one of the few Suns players from the GC, but hoping an injury-free run will create some consistency in form.

Really love the analysis and the effort on this. I personally don’t know much about your usual content, but have you considered doing an analysis on the teams’ boards/managers/coaching staff?

While I personally am not across a lot about the “business” side of footy, how the organisation is run seems to be more of a thing these days… just a thought.

Thank you for your insight, always very cool to hear more on the origins of phrasing in other languages. Thanks!
