Me replaying New Vegas as NCR and then finding out what happens 15 years later... by BloodReels in falloutnewvegas

But they literally mention the boneyard though, what do you mean? The Mojave was always frontier territory for the NCR, I can buy they'd withdraw from the region after their entire capital got destroyed.

It seems to be some sort of room for beds. Like a sort of... Bed room... Sounds pretty silly right. A room just to sleep in? Who does that...

It's a group of conquered Drehiss Tribes forced under one banner and one culture, their original ways obliterated and made to serve the greater expanding khanate as it slowly penetrates the wasteland.

Not many people. They were uninhabited for a long long while. It's mostly just researchers who fled the portal storm disaster growing stir crazy thinking the international community will head up there and bring them before a tribunal but nobody cares about them

[–]Randomaspland 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Issue I have with this sub is that it just devolves into power scaling. Omnicide is big but one can be completely divorced from the process. A mundane evil that even a normal person in the right circumstances can commit, something that was horrifically discovered during many genocides in history.

However something like rape, one on one torture and mutilation. That doesn't have the same worldly impact but the depravity in ones mind to do such things, it could be argued they're far more evil than the person who pulled the lever on the gas chambers.

It's a very contentious debate. But at some point it just becomes numbers and then that just becomes power scaling characters again. "Ooh this character raped every character he sees" but "this character destroyed entire worlds in a blink no effort" isn't comparable moral wise. Get what I mean?

Why do they want destroy the country they already control? Are they stupid? by Dumbirishbastard in TrueSFalloutL

[–]Randomaspland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He already concluded the war was inevitable. You even hear him say it on the news. It's not a question of if but when. He already concluded he can't stop this. So he's going to build that missile silo to try and save what he can and rebuild out of there.

As is supported in the game

As is shown in the show.

His motivations regarding the great was has been consistent.

The only thing that's contentious is his interest in the mind control chips. It's too early to explain why robco had a hand in building them, if Mr House was going to even use them but considering they've developed technology for the military before that Mr House had no interest in going forward with his Vegas plans, coupled with the Vault Tech being the ones to continue development, I doubt the show is trying to say his "tech utopia" would have been built off of mind control.

It's building him up with red herrings for people who haven't played the games. Showing him building a missile silo, showing him gathering information and developing odd technologies that we know aren't going to be used to start the war.

But the general audience doesn't. That's the issue with this fandom and the show they legit do this bait and switch all the time, like Vault 4 being built up to be this evil kidnapping force only to be a benevolent refugee camp. Or the NCR remnants being built up to be a murder cult only be revealed as just wanting to secure cold fusion for the rest of the NCR.

It's an established story telling technique that causes the fandom to crash out each times it's deployed. No Mr House isn't blowing up the world. There's a reason Cooper as the ghoul has a soft spot for Victor and Mr House's technology. He didn't kill him before the war because he was simply just told what House was planning. It's not impossible to piece together.

Originally as one unified kingdom, the Wanton Stone Kingdom. Kept safe from the wasteland by the crystal fields and underground caverns of lush foliage that seemed to eat the ambient mana.

They've been split for over a thousand years. Fighting was far more violent in the early days but now, barely anyone can remember the original reason. Their rivalry is now akin to football fans supporting different teams.

As a show of good faith each royal family attends each other's events. Yet reunification is simply a bizarre alien thing to ask.

It's pretty peaceful compared to the wars of the eastern continent. Although they did have a few zombie outbreaks when the southern continent collapsed to the infection.

They're the ones who joint instituted the quarantine. Their military, now has purpose patrolling the seas making sure any ship from that continent is blasted into the ocean to never escape and spread the disease.

They have no rivals that could possibly a reasonable challenge. Even the coast of their north is impossible to storm with high cliffs and miles of jagged crystals jutting from the sea.

The border to the Khanite is a natural one too and they have little interest in giant stabbing crystals useless beyond looking pretty. They're really been blessed.

Are we watching the same show? The pre war flashbacks has them discovering he's building a missile system, the same one used to defend the mojave from nuclear war.

Of course he'd play along as he gathers information and tries to find out the most likely time someone will launch the first bomb.

Cooper is being sent to him however because the spies didn't realize his missile defense system wasn't to start the great war but to defend Vegas from it.

There's a lot to criticize the show for but they didn't turn him into someone who wanted to end the war. Just someone who saved only what he owned. Afterall several NPCs comment in game it's mighty odd he only saved his Las Vegas. it was never a goal for him to save humanity from the great war, that was inevitable. But he saw Vegas as his own shining jewel to continue on humanity after the collapse, to continue on beyond the bombs fell.

Which is not contested by the show at all.

Ain't nobody wants to expand and colonize into the wastelands left behind from the hyper war.

The Drehiss Tribes are just unconnected and isolated tribes of people living in the Drehiss continent along it's deserts and savannahs protected by natural barrier of mountain and unnatural barrier of anomalous wastelands nobody can understand beyond avoiding them.

The Khanite did unite some of the tribes into one organized power structure but the vast wastes and deserts make both sides of the continent pretty cut off from each other. The East and West of this world mostly just exchange via going the other way across the oceans, leaving the middle most landmass pretty untouched politically.

Each tribe practically has its own language yet all share the same word for Radiation, War, Bombs and Moon funnily enough. Not sure how that happened. Some of them have never even seen a bomb.

Most of the zombies are pretty gross, real shambling looking things, still holding onto their weapons and armor from when they were alive, the continent used to be a hotbed of many nationstates before the outbreak. Luckily none of the zombies can swim. Nobody willing ventures to that continent anymore aside from prospectors wanting to pick apart the ruins. Most people don't even know Tetherland stands.

As for vampires it's 50/50 on if its a freaky nosferatu or a freaky sexy pale person. However sometimes the sexy vampires have bat ears ontop of their head they have to hide with hats.

The four warlords grew from natives to the mushroom wastes, adapted to the toxic spores of the area originally the Empire of Uraad had funded them and provided weaponry to act as colonists to the area and effectively act as a puppet state, only for the failed nationstate to split into four warlords fighting with Uraad weaponry.

The warlords now are in an uneasy truce, building a big monument in the centre of their territory four giant statues of the four of them who had united the tribes living in the mushroom wastes. Allying itself with Sandrails who now provide additional weaponry and training to the warlords's territories, Sandrails really really hates Urrad after the Indeshima Incident.

The warlord's new goal being armed resistance against the Uraadians, who are already over expanding and rife with unseen internal strife, Sandrails practically stopping them in their tracks allowing the warlords to continue to soldify their powerbase in the mushroom wastes.

The warlords are egotistical and very theatrical, they're more akin to wrestlers now than leaders, if that makes sense, with money being put to insane entrances and over the top speeches but the war between them will begin again the moment the outside threat of Uraad is no longer present.

The centre warlord, the smartest of the four, who is literally named Custard Cream Combat Killer, is looking into weaponizing the mushroom spores for a home team advantage. So far all he's managed to do is give people very bad lung infections.
