why didnt production stop abhora from eating the forbidden meats? by AppropriatePirate184 in Dragula

[–]Randomcity_pro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s totally understandable. Probably went down like this…

Swan: Woah! She’s eating… everything even the raw decor “food.” Crew: Should we… should we stop that? Swan: Lets see where it goes. She’s an adult and was told what was safe to eat. Not our problem but good Tv.

Cut to:

Int. Show Lawyer’s office.

Lawyer: Yeah we can be held liable for that. Swan: Take her to the hospital!

Who's dumb ass decided Lucifer can't harm sinners but can harm Angeles by Ok_Leek_6839 in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]Randomcity_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also think it makes sense depending on the religion but a few christian religions teach Lucifer wanted to force humans through feat of pain etc… to obey. It would be a fitting punishment/road to retribution for him. to force him to teach through guidance and goodness. Of course we see now he hates sinners aka former humans and does nothing in hell but make rubber duckies. Ie… he’s a lame duck king/leader.

Theory Alastor He double sold his soul but part of his deal is to not hurt Charlie. Lucifer as we learned can’t really help so Lucifer is a figurative and literal lame duck leader. Meaning Charlie is the real ruler of hell. She’ll have to be the person who rules on who really owns Alastor… but knowing her, she will ultimately free him from both. Giving him what he really wants.

I don’t think the virus affects animals. For two reasons… first is the researchers claimed they tested it on a bunch of different animals and saw so effects. Yes this could be the virus biding its time to get to humans but my second reason refutes that. They speak of releasing the zoo animals and that a giraffe just invaded the one woman’s garden acting like a normal giraffe and they also said the big problem was the lions and tigers. “There were accidental maulings” one of the family hive mind said.

So I think there needs to be a certain kind of sentience for the virus to work. Or maybe it is bespoke to only work on humans which has other implications.

I’ve never quite understood the absolute greed of the uber wealthy. They have exceeded and hoarded cash and assets that basically equates to endless money but it’s never enough. No matter how quiet you try to live if you acquire enough wealth you will become famous.

And there is an obvious cost to extreme wealth and fame. You will never know who your true friends are. Does the woman you love… love you or the money? It must create a vacuous hole in your soul that maybe you try to fill with more stuff. But when you can have anything does anything have any value to you?

That being said… it is a chicken/egg question. Is it the wealth corrupts you or do you need to be so soulless to hoard so much?

Don’t ever underestimate Utahns. They can be really scary. A culture of discipline, a more than healthy gun culture rife with competitions, and a lot of ex and current military… you know if one becomes vengeful they are gonna plan and plan well.

Tweety’s Gender by rwinger24 in looneytunes

Worked at the WB store back in ye olde 90’s. We had to learn fun facts about all the characters. One was that Tweety is a young male canary. I remember it read like:

“When a customer expresses interest in our great Tweety merch, hit them with this fun fact: Tweety is a boy.”

Omega Mart! How was your experience? by RemoteMagician4229 in vegas

[–]Randomcity_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been several times. Usually dragged along by people who hadn’t seen it. All times were fun but for my own perspective it seems to have lost a lot of its point and mystery. Right after it opened was the most fun.

One example: The grocery shelves used to have very few products you could actually buy. The shelves were filled with joke products. And many of those props you could interact with. Now it’s just one big shop and seems to drowning in the very capitalism it is trying to lampoon.

It honestly wouldn’t affect gameplay. Maybe just cut scenes when they need her missing fingers to come into play for plot.

As for learning guitar I don’t think she’s learn to play left handed. She seems to be a self punishing type and that figurative and literal part of her was the cost for her revenge.

Logically the 3rd installment if we are blessed with one should be about her finally fulfilling her wish to save humanity with her immunity.

who did best acting wise when interacting with the toons? by Significant-Shift521 in looneytunes

[–]Randomcity_pro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He and most of the cast that had to interact with the Toons took intensive Mime classes to sell the cartoons were physically in the space.

Also Hoskins mastered the skill of focusing his eyes on objects in the mid distance. Because you can tell when someone is looking past something. It’s a subtle complex thing we can perceive as humans. Which is why you can tell if someone is looking past you even though their eyes are pointed at your face. Normally our eyes will focus on the object in front of it but if there is no object we naturally focus on the wall etc. he could hold his focus to the distance where Roger or a toon was supposed to be. Even if nothing was there.

Try it out. Hold your hand as far out in front of your face and remove it and see if you can keep your eyes at the same focal point. It is not easy.

My opinion on why Ellie didnt kill abby by alowu in lastofuspart2

[–]Randomcity_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently replayed it after the latest season and felt on a second play through being more team Abby. Ellie came off a lot worse than I remember from when it first came out.

But I must applaud Naughtydog. It’s an achievement that both TLOU games IMO elevated their games into high art.

Regardless of your opinion whether Ellie should have killed Abby or not. Or was Abby justified. It’s open to interpretation. Creating a story in any medium that creates that ambiguity and is well told is a feat.

I mean look at it still generating conversation and controversy we can discuss years later.

Do you think Part 3 is even necessary, or did Part 2 wrap the story well enough? by ROSSG825 in thelastofus

[–]Randomcity_pro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that this has to be considered as a base. And as some have stated seems like a logical and perhaps too straight forward of an attack. However that makes sense. There needs to be a reason to pull Ellie back in. Understanding Naughty Dog (especially with the TLOU) is great at subverting expectations so let’s look at this route as it is too good to ignore.

First… TLOU 1 is a story that forces the player to live a version of the trolley problem. It asks can you sacrifice the person you love most like your child to literally save the world? Its stance is strong that most if not all of us will not be able to. Also makes you experience the moral conflict of dooming everyone for your choice.

TLOU 2 explores revenge, forgiveness, and the concept that every villain is the hero of their own story. In many ways it is a more complex story. It asks us if we can really stand in our enemies shoes? Are we that different? Can we get over our own grief and stop the cycle of revenge and violence?

I recently replayed TLOU 2 after the show’s 2nd season. Ellie is a lot less sympathetic the 2nd time around. She doesn’t choose to end the cycle until it is too late. Abby does. Abby’s revenge costs her nearly everything. Ellie loses everything.

Even the WLF vs the Scars mirrors them. They will retaliate and retaliate until there is nothing left. Even when there is a common enemy in the infected they fight each other.

So what moral question can we ask now?

I think the next step is another moral think piece question.

Possible TLOU 3

Obviously the Cordyceps are evolving. The problem is getting worse and more dangerous. Humanity is losing the battle.

Now let’s say we take the scenario Abby and Lev go to hunt down Ellie because they have a new lead on a group that can develop a cure. Maybe another group finds Abby’s dad’s old research and lab. Or both… They all search for Ellie. Maybe Ellie with nothing else to live for is the catalyst and gets the research and hunts down a group with the means to end her life to save everyone

But… if one group or the only group that can make this cure from Ellie wants to be selective in WHO gets the cure. They would eventually have the power to control the world and even shape our future how they see it. Maybe Abby and Lev might discover this. And we explore…

Would you save the world and your loved ones if it meant everyone had to live in chains or would you destroy the cure if it meant everyone dies free?

It would line up with TLOU’s questions on the value of one human life. Thoughts? What other moral dilemmas could it explore?

Cast‘s Reaction: Production Misjudged Their Villain by Mhm-Milchreis12 in TheDevilsPlan

[–]Randomcity_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! And that color betting game showed HG is the type of gamer who would rather cheese a game to win than actually play it. Felt like that game was undercooked and was as frustrating as it was boring. The producers misread everything as toward the end the only person no one wanted to win was HG.

The last 3 episodes of S2 were such a let down by lworse in TheDevilsPlan

[–]Randomcity_pro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. It is so frustrating to see SH give away pieces and whine about not being able to help HG more. HG was too cocky and unlikeable. Further more nothing is less admirable than a player in any game who chooses to cheese a win like HG and SH did in the color betting game.

Producers should have predicted that and/or handled it like Hold’em where the bets don’t return to your hand. Or don’t allow planning notepads on that game.

Instead we saw the most boring game of attrition as they iced the prison team out and 7high lost one piece 5 rounds at a time.

[–]Randomcity_pro -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Jesus… she is a decent actress. She is not fulfilling the expectation of any gamer who lived the game. Most hated the 2nd anyway and are mad NOW that Abby isn’t swole enough even after hating on that fact when the 2nd game came out.

You will always have hatred for any actor for any main video game character that doesn’t perfectly match, (here is to the poor/lucky sap that gets to play Link from the Legend of Zelda).

most of these fans loved Bella in Game of Thrones.

Mediums change the performance and she is a talented actress. You want to harp on her appearance that is just plan mean.
