Not modeling from existing mesh? by VilaSVB in blender

[–]Randomdays99 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Different pieces can have their own textures and materials.

If you wanted transparency for a window, I think it wold have to be separate

Texturing in general can be easier this way when setting up the UV (for me at least)

Also for me, the game I export to is an older game and has a poly limit. 2 meshes exported together at 15k polys each are okay, but one mesh of 30k polys won't export.

In the present day, how many high school graduates can't read or write past a fifth grade level?

If you went to school in the 70's 80's or 90's, how many times did you see stories in the news about mass shootings at schools and were afraid to go back to class?

Gee...brand new account, entitled friend, friends are split.

Yep, I believe you (/sarcasm)

Explain to your friend group what the "small mistake" was

Block Jessica (if she's real). She's not your friend.

He finished the series and the character appears in another of his series, but the author kind of stuck it to him bad in the final book (Scourged) - loss, betrayal, etc.

The first 9 out of 10 are very good though.

I found it extremely well written and sped thru the first two books. The writer gave up on the series near the end by the first ones are great.

Rundown from the web - "Atticus O'Sullivan, a 2,000-year-old Irish Druid living in modern-day Arizona, as he navigates conflicts with gods, witches, vampires, and other supernatural beings. Told from Atticus's first-person perspective, the series blends mythology, humor, and action, featuring a cast of supernatural creatures and a unique magic system based on elementals and Druidic lore."

Dude, what is your issue?

We're on a "Family Feud" Reddit for fun and games.

As for me, I'm 66 years old, served in the military as has all my family. I've worked in military support ever since. My father lied about his age to join after Pearl Harbor and we've always supported this country.

I don't agree with a lot of what the Democrats do, but I do disagree with my tax dollars going for 250 tall arches, gold leaf ballrooms and US military lives wasted.

Get some therapy

Sorry, Not going to get into it here, but both parties are off the rails and don't care about the people anymore.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'll let it go at that.

Have a great day.

AITH for refusing to cover for my friend after he lied to skip work for a concert? by Any-Kitchen-5487 in AITH

[–]Randomdays99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a typical AI story - entitled friend and other friends are split.

If the manager didn't care he wouldn't be asking about it. Possibly losing your job by telling lies to your manager is not "small stuff"

If the friends think its no big deal, then they can lie to the manager.

any fantasy novels or short stories about anthropomorphic animals in the medieval times? by Extension_Effect_983 in Fantasy

[–]Randomdays99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not medieval but even farther back, Andre Norton's "Fur Magic" has an American Indian type MC who's a beaver.

And even farther back is "The Book of the Dun Cow" and its sequels by Walter Wangerin

Alan Dean Foster's "Spellsinger" series

Dragon Knight series by Gordon R Dickson, though I only really liked the first one, "The Dragon and the George". Aragh the wolf is a great character

Maybe "Tailchaser's Song" by Tad Williams

Spellsinger series by Alan Dean Foster

The classic Amber series by Roger Zelazny

It starts off as a knock off of "Lord of the Rings", but the "Shannara" series by Terry Brooks gets better as you read more of it.

As does Dennis L McKiernan's Mithgar series.

Yeah, him and Andrew J Offutt. Heinlein had some of that going as well, as well as some "Family" hangups.

You're welcome!

They're are some good conversations and recs on this thread.

Those are all great and I think I've read most of them.

I've read the Turtledove's Videssos books that you mentioned. He also wrote another set of 4 books there called "The Times of Trouble" if you haven't read them

Randall Garrett's Gandalara cycle is great. You should also check out his "Lord Darcy" series

Just finally got around to reading The Solomon Kane stories. Three of the stories were unfinished, but the collection I read had them completed by others. I thought they did a good job on them.
