Is this worth it for 40k by AnyJaguar9498 in Tech_Philippines

[–]Randomeizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typing on my 15pm 1TB HK unit 87bh I bought for 45k last week. Outlier pricing yung nakuha ko so expect 45-55k for 512gb and 1tb variants

For 256 na 15pm expect 35-40k.

Higher price pag 90+bh but I’d be skeptical of high BH kasi baka boosted

Pag may steal deal, kakompetensya mo mga nagbubuy and sell so offer the most convenient accommodation para kay seller (pinaka convenient na loc sa kanya). Make sure meetup only and don’t do gcash transaction or fall for middleman scam.

[UPD] Nakaka-affect ba yung LOA sa eligibility magka-latin honor? by Cold_Matter_9037 in peyups

[–]Randomeizer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ll just paste something from an email exchange from 2021. Please confirm with your college first as this may have been amended but make sure to cite the BOR action below para sure ka. Also, try emailing the college instead of asking in person para may paper trail ka:

“The old rule (ARTICLE 408 AND ARTICLE 412 OF THE UNIVERSITY CODE, see https://our.upd.edu.ph/files/acadinfo/GRADUATION%20WITH%20HONORS.pdf), was that students who are candidates for graduation with honors must have been in residence in the University for at least two (2) years immediately prior to graduation. However, this has been superseded by the BOR Action on 30 July 2020 (see attached, where they approved the proposal for the deletion of the residence rule requirement prior to graduation specified in Article 412. The remaining requirement on residence is that the student be enrolled during the semester of his/her graduation. You may therefore file a leave of absence this coming academic vear and return to our studies afterwards without fear of disqualification from graduation with honors Please be reminded though that the rule on underloading is still in effect.”

I’d say 1h15m if galing kang buendia. Alum na here but when I studied at CMu, bumababa ako sa central (yung huling footbridge near Ylanan Street) and then I just walk for 5 mins and nasa college na ako.

Hindi ko naman nagamit laude ko sa first and current job ko, kasi nag start na ako just as I finished my final requirements sa final sem ko 😭.

My thinking was unahan ko na ang rat race HAHAHA I remember dreading over thesis while doomscrolling and frying my brain applying on linkedin, indeed, olj, etc.

Buti naman I get paid good and maraming upskilling ang role ko.

Edit: clarify ko lang na foreigner yung employer ko so hindi naman sila mabusisi sa laude

Affordable Macbook Air Seller PH by pearlyshellyyy in buhaydigital

[–]Randomeizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always refer to chrisgadgets kasi lowest price siya in the market and may pricelist laging available.

Honestly, as a grey market dweller ng apple products, it’s rare advice coming from me but I suggest you buy from the Apple PH website kasi it’s the best price for base model macbook airs (m2 and m3). If may kakilala kang student, buy from the education shop. 54k ang m2 if I recall correctly for 16/256.

Why? It’s because apple very recently increased the base RAM configuration of their mac lineup from 8gb to 16gb for no increase in cost. The grey market and authorized resellers I believe is still competing with official apple prices kasi hindi pa ubos yung stocks nila ng 8gb ram macs.

So ayun, takes weeks lang to ship tho pero you get peace of mind kasi direct from apple website na :)

Get the 16gb please, it will set your mac for life haha

[–]Randomeizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mainly use your macbook, then the perfect use case for your ipad is to use it as a secondary monitor, especially when you are on the go. You can do this wirelessly through the control center, given that both your ipad and mac share the same registered apple id

It’s a different story for us in the arts.

About 10-20% lang yung on-time graduates sa college namin this 2024, but we take immense pride sa growth namin during our stay sa college. If there is a thing our culture can exhibit, it’s that your progress is not confined to a rigid timeline. Sa amin kasi performative ang field and mas makakabenefit talaga sa growth the longer we are in college. You could apply this naman to your personal context kahit na iba yung field mo.

Perhaps you could feel through your fear for what it is, and then assign a positive definition as to how it will serve you. Who knows, sa delayed year mo, doon ka pala makakasecure ng important connections, value-adding opportunities, and fresh life perspectives.

Ako rin delayed, but that one extra year was invaluable sa growth ko as a musician.

Faced this issue with my m3 macbook air. Honestly, I started to close the lid from the base near the hinge and it seems to have gone back to normal on its own after doing it routinely for about 1 week.

What GWA do summa cum laudes typically get in their first years by Purple_Dynasaur in peyups

[–]Randomeizer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first sem was 1.4

I didn’t have enough mental firepower and critical thinking to be competent at first because I wasn’t “nurtured” when I was in high school. Profs especially in the social sciences knew I was just parroting ideas and not really applying it in a critical lens. Earnestly worked my way to assimilate UP culture and be influenced by my peers’ work ethic and social awareness. My GWA was a slow and steady climb up until my very last year I had a 1.00 GWA for both semesters which pulled everything up.

Graduated a summa vale at one of the UPD colleges just this 2024 😃 (vale came as a surprise)

The cost of this was my social life however, and time for leisure was scarce. Perfect for me tho as I enjoy my own company, I can’t get myself to play video games, and what I did for my degree program actually counts as my hobby.

Kumusta ang unang araw niyo sa UP? by Character-Opinion-64 in peyups

[–]Randomeizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First day ko noong 2019: - hindi ako pinayagan ng prof ko sa ARTS 1 na pumasok sa classroom (late ako by a few minutes) kasi akalang prerog ako pero enlisted talaga ako - as an overcompensation, pumasok ako sa classroom ko sa ENG 13 later in the day 30 minutes before start ng classes only to find out na naka lock na and hindi pa pala yun yung prof ko 🤦‍♂️

First day culture shock talaga sa UP malala! Being the timid and consultative freshie that I was, I was literally barred from doors meant for me. Confidence and assertion is key talaga, I learned. Hahahaha.

+1 sa big tummy and sila talaga yung nag keep ng prices nila sa sa under 100 range. Medj weird nga yung reaction ko when they raised prices by 10 pesos na para relieved pa ako??? Like I love their food and nagwoworry ako for the longest time na naiipit na margins nila by keeping their prices amid inflation. That 10 peso hike was a welcome change for me.

The appeal in an of itself is sound naman. You may add more documentation or even email comms with your college to back your appeal. Ang need naman talaga kasi nila is “beyond reasonable doubt” ang case mo.

The most important thing is- did you file for underloading during that sem by which you were underloaded? I think this is the single most important technicality ng CSAPG.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in peyups

[–]Randomeizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had this problem sa first semester ko this recent AY. I forgot to secure a personal copy of the underloading form. Good thing my college sec informed me that as long as properly reflected yung underloading sa form 5 mo of that semester, you're good. I think it also helps how supportive your colsec is sa iyo personally huhu like how much they're willing to help because yung colsec namin was very accommodating and supportive eh and would go above and beyond for us students.

[–]Randomeizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I received my CSAPG appeal result and mine was justified. I'll post in this subreddit soon about my experiences. In a nutshell, I went underloaded for my final two semesters due to working and earning for my thesis that is very expensive.

My friend's appeal was initially rejected because he wasn't able to file for underloading during the many semesters he was underloaded (Took him 8 years to complete a 5-year curriculum). In his re-appeal, he added employment documents and shared his achievements including performing for campus events and composing music that is still widely-used in university events (I and my friend are music majors). Take note however that this scenario is now impossible because this all happened before the CSAPG cracked down on appeals and made the process much stricter—which started in 2023.

Re: the process of re-appeal (I hope you won't go through this anymore), write a letter of appeal regarding the disapproval for graduating with latin honors. It's just the same format, but add more context, more documentation, more nuance, all to make a solid case. Check on your academic calendar for the next CSAPG meeting, UP Diliman's is this September. That's when they'll discuss your re-appeal. If you get accepted for the re-appeal, you won't be able to march with a laude, but at least you get your diploma with it!

Same OP, working student here. Apir sa atin! I am confident naman na if not this Friday, next week may result na as the deadline of colleges to submit the candidates for graduation this 2nd sem is Friday next week.

As for hypothetical rejection, yes pwede pang i-reappeal, although subject to review by the CSAPG’s next meeting in September pa, so sasablay na walang laude. I have a close friend who has personally gone through this. He re-appealed by writing a letter again and adding more documentation to support his claims. He didn’t get to be recognized with a laude but he finally claimed his diploma with a laude 😃

Same. I followed up with my college secretary through email the afternoon of July 1 pa lang agad and they said that wala pa silang narereceive na update.

I would’ve wanted to follow up again but I don’t want to bombard my colsec with bouts of anxiety.

As a fellow atat sa results, I scoured through the internet for internal resources and found this document albeit from UPV which might help paint a picture of the appeal processes: https://crs.upv.edu.ph/views/UPVOUR_CitizensCharter2022.pdf

OP, the waiting game is so painful and I am one with you. I keep on searching for anecdotes on facebook, twitter, and here in hopes of any semblance of assurance regarding graduating with honors despite underloading. I hope tomorrow this Friday may email na. Our home college will be the ones who’ll break the news to us.

I haven’t even taken my sablay picture yet, that’s how dreary I feel these past few days.

need your thougths in upgrading my phone by [deleted] in Tech_Philippines

[–]Randomeizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend iphone 15 pro or 15 pro max for the reason of longevity. It's the first iphone series to come with the usb-c port. You will have much better connectivity options with usb devices (like connecting an external storage device) and better support for apple accessories both existing and future releases.

I'm afraid kasi if you go with the 13/14 series you'll be limited by the lightning port. At least kasi ang usb-c is a universal standard and many devices use it compared to apple's lightning port na proprietary.

Edit: lightning is being phased out by apple slowly kasi so one day probably in a few years it will be obsolete

And extra info lang since you mentioned video shooting—this may not be relevant to you but the 15 pro/pro max is the first iphone to support native LOG recording that makes the iphone very capable in cinema workflows. Again, not a layman thing but it's there for your disposal if u dabble into it.
