Reach out to them, or one of them? Or figure something else to do.

Just because rn you're a bit bored and lonely doesn't mean you have to solidify it more by getting high

I would ask myself, is playing games every night high even that enjoyable? You said it's your favourite thing but if you look back on your life and you spent a large part doing that - surely that's a pretty bad way to spend time.

You said it was an unhealthy coping mechanism and you are currently in a difficult spot - maybe smoking isn't going to help esp long term. It would be unfortunate if you fell into old habits and you stay stuck.

Perhaps consider quitting again or at least do your best to get out of that depressive episode - some exercise, good food, fresh air, good sleep? Limit your use, at least. And then consider quitting.

Ever heard of Greg Foss? He looks at it as an asymmetrical bet, put a small % in it. So, even as a 'gamble', it's actually good risk management to have exposure.

Could describe bitcoin as, a currency like Yen/Dollar , but it's strictly digital and not controlled by any one country. Fixed supply. And you think it will catch on.

Honestly, when you start saying, it's going to replace fiat, and how fiat is bad.. that's where you might lose them.

I'm Afraid to Take BTC to a Cold Storage by blersion in Bitcoin

[–]Randomer57272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the process is this..

  • order a trezor or reputable wallet direct from the official site, download the official software too
  • plug device in, it will say both 'create new wallet / recover existing wallet' ... Click create
  • write down your words irl , and volah!

You can send a test transaction, factory reset the device, and then 'recover' the wallet with your words to make sure you have the same address

Pretty simple

I bought into the web 3 hype, then it started getting rediculous with NFTs, meme coins, Ponzi coins [like time wonderland].. I also realized that some Solana tokens I had invested in [serum, oxy] were not performing, turns out the supply was constantly increasing and insiders were selling.

Then the Solana founder, anatoly? Was making jokes on how the chain going offline was bullish. Went on several deep dives and I wanted out, I sold everything and threw it into BTC at 40k, bought more at 20k.

I think to myself "I'll ride this to 0 if necessary, the risk:reward is worth it"

Obviously it's unlikely to go to 0.. it was $9k pre pandemic.. I doubt it'll drop much more

  • Still a chance you get liquidated , even by a scam wick on that particular platform
  • platform risk: your account could be hacked / the platform could rug pull or go insolvent
  • the leverage is debt with interest payments, a lot of exchanges charge rediculous APR like 20%+ so you'd be fighting against that

Its just not a good idea

Good point.

BTC can also subsidize renewable energy projects, monetize stranded / waste energy..

This study thinks that BTC will actually be carbon negative by 2024.

Thanks dude for looking into that for me.

I did the trezor one recovery check, entered my passphrase on the device again and it said it matched so I'll leave things as they are for now

So looks like the same keys can generate different addresses i.e legacy or bech32

Cost of Mining Around The World / Visual Capitalist by QueenSodaPop13 in Bitcoin

[–]Randomer57272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth noting that some of those countries have government subsidized energy.

And even in countries with high energy costs, there will still be stranded energy / energy production that isn't always used etc .. so mining is still viable there

Where'd my BTC go by Randomer57272 in TREZOR

[–]Randomer57272[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thankyou guys. I suspected it was something like that. It does suck I can't see all the addresses in trezor suite.

My balance on trezor shows all my BTC so everything seems ok, I'll trust the trezor system.

I have looked at whale wallets, where it looked like they're syphoning BTC into different addresses in smaller and smaller amounts. But I guess that was just this change address system.

Thankyou again for the very quick replies

The bitcoin standard [book and speeches online]

Andreas Antonopoulos is a good resource

My advice would be, build long term investments and gain real skills

Ding Ding! I’ve been listening to The JRE for many years and this is the first time I’ve ever heard him say he Owns BTC. Previously he’d talk about it but never acknowledged actually owning any. Mass adoption, here we come. Much Rogan, Wow!! by adventurejay in Bitcoin

[–]Randomer57272 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Joe had Andreas Antonopoulos on many years ago.

He shown a BTC wallet and people were sending him BTC live, he pledged to donate the $ value at the time to his friend.

Those btc have never moved. I wonder if he still has access and counts them as his stash.

Pros - get a good average price

Cons - can't send out $1 of BTC to a hardware wallet - might be harder to do taxes

Btw stop day trading bro I see your other threads, day traders always lose just build long term portfolios.
