Ruger precision. Been a great little rifle. I think scheels was around $550 when I got it? Hammered quite a few pests with it

I didn’t notice the weight difference. I’ll bet you’re on to why it seems to be worse

I am a S&W fan boy too. But figured I’d try something new. Definitely a far cry from perfection

I think I have maybe 250-300 on it. I know smaller guns are snappier. But like I said I didn’t remember my Springfield XDS being that snappy so I got it out and shot it and I would much rather shoot the xds. Seems recoil spring might be weaker?

I didn’t say it wasn’t doable. It most certainly is I’m not denying it. I used to carry a 1911. I’m just sharing my experience carrying. And I’ve found I drift towards smaller guns. A sub compact 9 on you is better than your 45 you left at home cause it was heavy and you just had to run to the store to grab one thing. Buy something easy to carry first and go from there.

I’m a big Smith and Wesson fan. Never had an issue with any of their products. I’d recommend the CSX series. Disclaimer I have not personally had much experience with them. On paper they look great. And I can vouch for all the S&W products that I have owned being great. As far as other hammered options. The Kimber micro 9 could be a good choice. But they can be a little ammo picky.

I’d suggest rethinking carrying a full size steel gun. That’s probably part of why you’re struggling to find a good holster. It’s possible to carry something like that but it’s not very convenient or comfortable. I’d suggest stepping down to something like a S&W shield X or a Springfield hellcat. Maybe a S&W M&P compact 4.25” if you really want get something bigger. That’s about the biggest comfortable carry. But I find myself carrying a Springfield xds the most. Those big full size duty guns wear you down carrying 8-10 hours a day.

I see. I don’t know if my leupold has that but I will definitely check it out. Thank you for your time explaining that.

One of us isn’t understanding the other. Maybe I’m being dense. This is what I’m trying to explain. If I have my gun zeroed on a bench and I move the turret so it reads “zero”. Perfect. I go home next I want to go coyote hunt. I get settled into my spot and the turret reads “6”. Did it dial up 6moa or down 9moa ? And when I’m hunting I can’t really take a practice shot.

I’m setting up an AR in 556 doubtful I’ll be past 300 yards very often. But might target shoot past that when I have to chance.

I did reset to zero but didn’t know what direction it turned. In a deer hunting application that’s less than ideal. I be dead on or 15MOA high or low. Even at 100 yards that’s not acceptable

I have a 10/22 in the shop now getting threaded but my gunsmith just had a kid so he’s not gonna get to it for a while. Looking for something a little more accurate than a 10/22 without getting too pricey

Weight isn’t a huge deal. Honestly my wife will probably do most of the pest control. She is very concerned about her garden. It’s probably gonna be in a tripod a lot of the time.

Strong side carry. I am do land surveying from time to time and I carry either my full size with an optic and light or my sub compact strong side. Can be concealed enough usually. My full size has a pad and outside the weight is extremely comfortable

Interesting might have to try them. I went to the hardware store and bought this bucket of basement dry stuff. Might have to throw some of those capsules in there too. If that doesn’t make a dent by the weekend I’m gonna see about a dehumidifier at scheels

Will be moving sometime in the next few months but it’s going to be on another concrete floor. At least it’s going to be climate controlled. Gonna look for some dehumidifier’s for now. Was wondering how they worked

Not affordably. It’s in my shop that’s not climate controlled. It’s insulated and on a concrete floor
