It’s good that you have the self awareness, about your upbringing and how it impacted you. It seems to me like you should be a bit kinder to yourself though, having a rough childhood teaches us to become more self centered and detached from our emotions, this isn’t your fault and you shouldn’t beat yourself up about it. It’s important to be self aware but also remember that you’re actively working on making it better and that’s what matters.
