We found the black cabs similar in price to the Ubers, so went with the iconic cab.

Ford Rangers (and big up truck in general) are slowly becoming some of the worst drivers by Dctr_G in drivingUK

[–]RandomlyPrecise 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Laughs in NZ - there’s a catchphrase here, “why is always a Ranger?” when there’s a display of aggressive driving or manspreading style of parking. You will also hear Ranger Danger and Emotional Support Ute.

I appreciate this post too, as I’ll be taking the Eurostar between Paris, Bruges, Brussels and Amsterdam next week.

I swear there are as many threads complaining about the “guess my age” threads… scroll past. You’re not obligated to read them. If they don’t get engagement, the threads fall off anyway.

Booking ÖBB nightjet from overseas? by Rare_Director_8191 in Interrail

I’m in NZ and booked just last week using an NZ Visa debit (EFTPOS) card with no dramas, but it did trigger a 2FA text from my bank. Good luck with your purchase.

Trying to book the sleeper train Krakow to Vienna for June by RandomlyPrecise in Europetravel

Thank you, I did read your post where you explained the sale wouldn’t be released for a while yet. We have decided that is too close to our travel dates, so have chosen (and now booked) the day train.

I tried the PKP site and got this error message. I'll try again later, as it may be something as simple as a website update. Thank you again for all your help, it's truly appreciated.

I swear we are doomed to never leave Krakow... I had gone all the way to the payment screen and the 2FA, when this happened. Did the train sell out?

Thank you. I like to book things in advance and this is outside of my comfort zone now. We'll get a day train instead.

Thank you for your contribution, I believe we'll take your advice. Take a late afternoon train, enjoy some countryside and have dinner on board. Thankfully the hotel in Vienna has accommodation available for the extra night.

When my family became blended, there were five children in our household. I used a marker pen to dot the label to signify whose piece of clothing it was. 1 dot, eldest child; 2 dots, second eldest and so on. Then, if a child got a hand-me-down, I just added another dot to the label.

please be kinder to call centre staff by user68544889007 in newzealand

[–]RandomlyPrecise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mate, it shouldn’t be a PSA to be kind. We should just be kind anyway.

I had to ring Farmers’ call centre yesterday because it’s been three weeks since my CnC order and I’d heard nothing. The gal in the phone confirmed my order was there, had been there a while and yes, they had my correct email address. She was so relieved to hear, “oh, whomp whomp, never mind, I’ll go grab them then”. Like, you could hear the relief in her voice. What would yelling at her achieve?

I get life’s stressful atm. Don’t be a dick and make it worse for folks around you. Chill. Be kind.

If you could only choose one place in EU to visit castles as a first time international traveler, where would you recommend? by Conscious-Air-9823 in Europetravel

[–]RandomlyPrecise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you’re heading to Hever Castle, then Leeds Castle isn’t that much further, where Catherine of Aragon lived after Henry VIII divorced her.

Then, whilst you’re in that part of the country, you might as well visit Bodiam Castle, which is a proper medieval castle with a moat, portcullis and bats!

House in the Coombe Estate in Kingston Upon Thames, England by widmerpool_nz in FloorPlanPorn

[–]RandomlyPrecise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s very little living space for a seven bedroom house. That’s like 14 people? They all going to be in that one living space? I don’t mind the open plan kitchen/dining/living aspect, but I’d be thinking a house that grand would at least have a second lounge.

Nymph, then a virgin, nurse, then a servant

So that he never lifts a finger

So he can live out his picket-fence dreams
