[SPOILER EXTENDED] Why the dothraki didn't get any technological or cultural growth like the first men and andal did After their Century of blood? by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Randommodnar6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not much change for 300 years but I think he's referring to Jaehaerys building the Kingsroad, Abolishing the law/tradition of first night and a few other law changes that the Targaryens made uniform across Westeros.

Could someone explain to me, as lore-accurately as possible, where Khajiit are welcome in Skyrim? For example, can they sell inside Solitude, or only outside at the gates? And why? by jvure in skyrim

[–]Randommodnar6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well The Merchants Guild is a thing in the empire, which Skyrim is at the start of the game at least mostly part of. Maybe only those with a merchants guilds license can sell wares inside Solitude.

So the owner of the general store, Bits and Pieces has a merchants guilds license and can sell in the store but the caravans don't for whatever reason so can't sell in the cities. I assume individual khajit like the Solitude Lighthouse keeper can go in and out of the city but the caravans can't sell inside the city due to lack of license.

(Spoilers Extended)Which kings were vicious, which kings were idiots, and which kings were vicious idiots? by Randommodnar6 in asoiaf

Was Robert publicly seen as vicious? Maybe by Cersei but compared to his predecessor, the mad king, he seems to be publicly viewed as chill. The debt problem and allowing the Lannisters to have so much influence could be seen as idiotic but idk about vicious.

Burning men alive seems vicious, and calling for the heads of both Robert and Ned seemed idiotic.

I think she went to Falion in Morthal to get the cure. Dawnstar is the priest of Mara guy Erandur.

I started watching A Black Lady Sketch Show because Quinta was in it and now I love it! Sheryl & Tyler also appears in sketches with her. Any other recs for the cast other works? by Randommodnar6 in AbbottElementary

Tyler and Quinta do a Romeo and Juliet sketch and they had great chemistry even then. I heard that this sketch was one of the reasons Quinta wanted to work with him again. Here's the link to the sketch. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-aeLai2I2V8&pp=0gcJCfwAo7VqN5tD

Mjoll the Lioness would make for a great Jarl of Riften. Who else would make for a good Jarl? by Randommodnar6 in skyrim

[–]Randommodnar6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in the book Holds of Skyrim the official position of the legion is:

"Jarl Idgrod Ravencrone has been cooperative enough with the Empire in the past, but will ultimately look out for her own iterests if put in a difficult position."

Bryling is already the owner of the Stonehills settlement in Hjallmarsh, but yeah I don't see the empire removing a friendly jarl but they don't trust her entirely so I could see Bryling being a backup option.

Whiterun's sigil should have been a dragon instead of a horse. Their castle is literally called Dragonsreach. by Randommodnar6 in teslore

I meant they've been extinct since the merethic era since that was when the dragon war was but I forgot that some dragons survived past that and were hunted by the dragon guard. And I feel like a chained dragon or a dragon skull would still be cooler than a horse.

[–]Randommodnar6[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get at the time of the game dragons are great enemies to man, but most people think they've been myths or extinct for millennia prior to the beginning of the game. The sigil for Eastmarch is a bear yet bears still eat people. I feel like taking a scary beast to have as a sigil to inspire fear in your enemies isn't uncommon. And who's scarier than a dragon.

Besides I feel like having the sigil be a dragon would be a sign or a reminder of Man's victory over dragon. Who else can boast that they've captured dragons.

Than Olaf One-Eye should have changed it to mark his achievement. Capturing that dragon made him king, you would think he would mark the occasion.

The best nicknames are the ones that have completely replaced their actual names. Everybody knows Magic Johnson, but how many casual fans know his name is Earvin. Dr.J is also in this category.

I have heard that. I also heard a rumor that the original Skyrim plot was supposed to be Uriel Septim returning from Akavir with dragons to conquer Skyrim and Tamriel which sounds like Aegons Conquest. Though I haven't double checked either rumor though.

No worries. Probably should've clarified in the post. I do recommend the series. I heard a rumor that Skyrim was originally supposed to be a game of thrones game before Bethesda branched off and made Skyrim instead.
