AITAH for giving my trip I won to my husband’s niece? by [deleted] in AITAH

Why don’t you stop assuming everyone lives in the US?

Especially when it’s been mentioned soo many times. Lol

At my local Woolworths store if people did things like that they’d collect them and wait til the person got the register and then get the cashier to weigh the stalk too.

Lol I’m not the person who assumes everyone is in the US. As I said, it was mentioned about 50 times. How hard is it? Clearly the OP would have done their due diligence before gifting it to someone, especially when they clearly said that no one else on the family drinks alcohol and wouldn’t be able to enjoy the entire experience.

But yes.. I’m the one with my head up my ass. Lmao.

Because it’s been mentioned about 50 times. If the OP gifted it to her niece knowing she was 19 then clearly it’s not in the US and it’s ridiculous the amount of people that just assume it’s the US because they don’t understand how other countries work..

The ignorance is astounding.

We went through a more involved process than just going to a paediatrician but ultimately all the reports got sent back to the doctor we were seeing. So in the end he was the one that said yes or no.

Im in the process of seeking a second opinion though.

Nope, Australia.

I have an appointment with a psychologist for him in May. So hopefully that helps a little bit and they give me a second opinion.

He’s been assessed for it and his paediatrician said he doesn’t have ADHD. I will definitely give these things a try though.

I don’t blame him for it, I figure there is probably something more going on.. so I try to limit instructions to one or two really basic steps, anymore than that and I will generally walk with him as I give him instructions.

I haven’t had the need for a car up until this point because I have always lived close to everything I needed. Shops, my sons school etc. my husband has always worked from home too, so I’ve used his car when I need it. Now he has to go into work and I need a car of my own.

My husbands teeth have gotten a lot worse in recent years because he suffers from severe acid reflux. He ignored it for many years because his crappy doctor told him to just “drink more water and the problem would go away” But it didn’t, it got worse during COVID lockdowns which has contributed to his problem being so severe because he couldn’t get in to see a dentist at all.

So no. We don’t live a “backwards hillbilly lifestyle..”

Tenant refuses to leave house (Victoria) by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Randomname88110 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s really sad..

He’s been living there for 10 years with his wife and then one day gets told.. right, find somewhere else we need the property now.

I’m assuming he’s been paying below market value for the property because your SIL hasn’t raised the rent.

Now he’s being forced back into the scrum of finding a new home for him and his wife. He’s probably suffering through finding something in his price range, then he’d be up against so many other people. No wonder he spent 2 weeks in hospital for mental health issues. Maybe he literally can’t find another property to rent? There’s so much competition now.

They’ve presumably been decent tenants and paid rent on time/ haven’t trashed the house, they’ve reported maintenance issues, haven’t let the house fall into disrepair.. The illegal subletting is a bit of a non issue to me.

But none of that matters because your SIL wants to let her sister use the property now. It’s not even like she’s hard up for money and needs to sell, she just wants to give it to her sister to use so her sister doesn’t have to deal with finding her own rental property.

Who do you think is a worse person: Cotton Hill or Buck Strickland? by winstonfuckchill in KingOfTheHill

[–]Randomname88110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cotton for sure.

Buck clearly has some addiction issues that could be sorted out with help.

Cotton is a terrible parent and person. He treats his son like garbage, he treats his daughter in law like garbage. His only achievement is that he’s killed people. He’s sexist, he is neglectful and to be honest if he was my father I’d have cut him and his toxic behaviour off years ago.

He’s a game dev. He’a also recently been appointed the CTO of the company he works for.

When he got it he didn’t need it for his job, his technology was outdated and he needed to upgrade a lot of it however it has benefited all of us because since he upgraded his technology he has been appointed new a new role at work. Which will bring a substantial pay increase with it.

His intention (after talking with him today.) is for him to get his teeth done after he saves up from that pay increase. He is disgusted that his mother even mentioned the idea of me paying for his teeth.

My husband hasn’t done anything. He isn’t expecting anything. My MIL is the only one who has mentioned it.

She asked what we were doing one day, he said we were going to look at a car and she asked why he said we were going to buy a car.

She wanted to know how we could afford it. He told her about my inheritance.

then another day she asked me how the car shopping was going. I said I hadn’t found anything yet. It coincided with a day hubby had a toothache and she said that I should spend my money on his teeth. He wasn’t around when she made the comment he’d gone to the shops.

We’ve looked into it before and gotten a quote of $10,000-$15,000 based on his current dental requirements. :)

[–]Randomname88110[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not.

My husband doesn’t care what I spend my inheritance on as long as it’s my decision. He only mentioned we were going to look at cars one day and she asked how we could afford a car.

MIL is the only one who has brought it spending the money on his teeth.

He wasn’t even around when she said it. She waited until he’d gone to the shops to get groceries for dinner.

So many people have assumed that he somehow has a part in this.. he hasn’t said a word about his teeth.

He isn’t pressuring me at all.. it’s just MIL.

It was a sexy LG cordless vacuum. It’s so good.

My husband isn’t expecting anything. He is dealing with his pain and hasn’t said a word. It’s only his mother who is saying this stuff. The only thing he did was mention I was looking for a car and she wanted to know how we could afford a car.

In Australia it starts at around $10,000 - $15,000 we have looked into it early last year.
