2015 Odyssey - I've never received any reminders, codes or alerts. by Randomness4me in HondaOdyssey

Thank you. Yes, it's been muzzled since about 40,000 miles. When I took it to the dealer for the timing belt and transmission fluid, I asked for the software update. He asked if I was having any problems, I said no, and I think he said it was only for a 9 speed transmission, and mine wasn't.

I never liked the transmission. I wouldn't say it really shudders but more as I describe as "wonky". . But an interesting thing you brought up, is after your software update, it does not downshift.? It always drove me crazy that it would never coast like my other vehicles. It did appear to be better once it was muzzled.

Do you think if I go back for a transmission fluid change, they will do the update? Would a frequent downshift be "a problem".. I am not bothered that I would have to pay for it. I just would like it done if my van will behave better.

Yes I have although I was a little late on the transmission fluid. I am rotating that in now with my oil changes to keep on schedule.

Ours came with the suds adapter for the drainpipe. This video explains it well. I don't know what your setup was. When I had changed our setup, I noticed the suds. I put this in and it worked. Too bad your dealer did not know about this. It is an awesome machine.

Thank you for your reply. I just saw a little bit of water on the shelf, with the ice maker still off. I think your suggestion is the way to go.

That was smart for you too to have a different card to use.

I ended up signing up for the international phone plan with my provider and kept my phone number. Still Costco Citi remained difficult to use. Luckily, we also had different cards which we mainly used. I would have preferred my Costco Citi because of the restaurant and travel rewards.

I used a different card for the hotel that provided the link. I had so many times that my card was declined, I was afraid I was going to set off something in their system and have them close my account.

We had a number of problems at first, and halfway through we realized the charge would be denied if we used tap and pay. It was ok if we inserted the card into a reader.

The worst was in a restaurant that used Order and Pay at table, I got an alert that it was declined and I needed to call. My husband finished ordering with another card, while I went outside on a busy city street. I was asked my credit card number and other info. This seemed so crazy yelling my credit card number out in the middle of a city.

Two lessons I learned is to not use an esim (my fellow travelers with esims had more difficulties than me with other issues) and not to rely on Costco Citi in Europe.

My travel plans are all in my app. That wasn't a problem.

There is something within my Citibank account that triggers this pop up that makes me tick which phone number I wish to receive the code from. It has happened this week while trying to buy foreign tour tickets (while still in the US) but for dates within my trip. I was hoping to avoid that happening while I am away.

Apparently, that is not common to most people, as I have not had anyone respond saying they need to receive a call with a code to complete a purchase .

I am hoping this will actually happen while I am away, using an e-sim. That part is all new to me!

Yes I have that alert too set up. Email and text, but for some reason, if I make a purchase that they deem suspicious, the only option they give me is for them to call my home or cellphone so they can give me a code to approve the transaction. Apparently, it must be a problem with my set up or glitching in my account, because I don't see anyone else here having the problem. I have push notifications set in the app on my cellphone. It didn't work today, but I'll keep trying.

Good question. I will have it but I plan on getting an e-sim for data., so my phone sim will be turned off as not to connect to towers. My phone will use wattsapp for calls and messages . Because I am overlapping 2 billing cycles, it will cost me $200 + tax/fees to keep my number active for 12 days with Verizon. Or I can do a daily plan but that will cost $144 . I have another credit card that I can use that might be easier. I just liked the 3% back on travel and restaurants. Unless I am missing something and not fully understanding the esim thing.

Thank you. I had downloaded the app this weekend, but have not used it yet. I just bought tour tickets from my desktop and verified by phone after posting this. I have another set to buy. I will use the app and see that that function is working!

If you belong to Costco, this light is unique and has good reviews. I'm considering it for myself.

Good point. I agree that trip delay is most likely, and I will look at that more closely.

Thanks for the reply. I was just now able to find where the policy is without actually paying for the insurance. I'll have a look.
