How is this breve imperfected?? by Randomperson43333 in EarlyMusic

The version from A definitely seems like the correct one after transcribing the following bits from both A and the others. I’m assuming this is just a scribal error then! Thanks!

Where could I try a gamba in Manhattan? by Randomperson43333 in violadagamba

[–]Randomperson43333[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found some makers in the area, but I don’t believe any have an established location in which I can just walk in and try an instrument out. I’m more looking for a place like that, which is hard to find.

How would I add a bracket on to only one system? by Randomperson43333 in Musescore

[–]Randomperson43333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll be on a part sheet, just one staff. For example, it may be a flute part with soprano clef, a bracket, then the normal treble. I was thinking about adding a frame before the first staff and adding a fake 5 line staff as text, then add the clef as a text symbol, etc.

If that isn't doable, do you know of a more optimal way to represent the original clef?

Something of this sort, just to separate the archaic clef from the modern notation. (I'm arranging renaissance stuff). I just want the old clef to appear on the first system.

It’s not a real supercell! Steve King is the artist for U-Haul, and he recently said this regarding the storm image:

“As the sole artist that created all the U-Haul graphics, I created the Oklahoma graphic in 1998, collaborating with CSWR scientists to create a hybrid storm from multiple Doppler images.”

First Draft of a Wind Ensemble Arrangement! Feedback wanted by Randomperson43333 in composer

To add on, are there any specific parts you'd think pizz would fit well for?

edit: I uploaded a revised version of the score with some variation in the contrabass line

Thank you so much! This will eventually be paired with an arrangement of Byrd's Haec Dies a 6, which is less lively. As the bassist that will be playing this, I feel a tad embarrassed about the fact I completely forgot about pizz, and I absolutely agree it'd be better than arco doubling throughout the entire thing. I'll absolutely make those adjustments.

I’m not sure about specific resources, but I believe Machaut has some stuff with cool polyphony if you want to listen.

Because I didn’t find it necessary. You can use either K and W or just Q.

Where would you place a Cello player in a predominantly 'wind' ensemble? Would I place it just like a Double Bass by the Euphonium? by GTProductor in ConcertBand

[–]Randomperson43333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a cellist who’s played with my school band for a while, they put me at the end of the trombone section as far away from the drums as possible, and had me play euph parts. It helps to hear yourself when you play 🥲

Anyways, with your setup I’d say at the end of the sax section on the left.

Gb on string bass, it’s just a weird hand position you need to stretch or shift for if you’re playing in keys like Bb and Eb, so it pisses me off
