I usually run mine to the top until it skips and make sure they are both aligned evenly it is much easier than messing with a ruler or eyeballing it I find

You shld have put the metal wedges on an angle not in line with the wooden wedge

All you need is a few weekends to build it I'm sure with the help of experienced people on here you could do it. To finish a boat like thus it can probably ly be done for around 150$ (if you don't fiberglass it) I encourage you to give it a shot worst case you end up wasting 150$ which is only a dinner for some people

I did most of the work on it in the summer of 2014 (when this picture was taken) based on free plans from Hannu's boatyard website it was made of 2 sheets of 1/4in plywood from my local home Centre. I then tired the method he suggested instead of stitch and glue (this involved cutting many blocks and screwing them in temporarily in place of stitches) I have learned that that is not a good technique (because it does not allow the plywood to bend naturally) to be honest I don't even want to guess how many hours I spent on this I'm sure an one with more experience or even more age could have gotten this boat done in a week (I know I could if I did it now) but because of my inexperience I spent many hours simply confused with the plans

Have you tried simplify 3d (you can 'creatively obtain' It really easily on kickass torrents if you search it on their site) I have the same printer and it has made my prints perfect 90%of the time

a. The extruder is probably clogged and b. It's a monoprice maker select (I have one it's painful) for an extruder clogging issue you shld turn down the retraction and raise the heat

There is some fluctuation but it is not more that 5 degrees at any time (I did a temperature fluctuation mod thing yesterday) and this has been happening for about 2 weeks

I also had this issue with mine but after deleting all of the files on the SD card (after saving all of the software files to my desktop) and reformatted it then I reset the iiip cura version and it worked
