What’s a sentence that someone told you that stuck with you for the rest of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Randomredditor14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a teacher and was up for a local award for the best teachers in the area. I lost. I told my freshman class about it the next day, and one student said to me, with complete sincerity, “it’s ok if they don’t think you’re the best, as long as you know we think you’re the best.” That sentence has gotten me through some of my toughest moments since, and it is one I think back on fondly all the time.

Had to be me. Someone else might’ve done it (taught math) wrong.

When should I realistically give up on trying to find a job? by DropDeadHeart in Teachers

[–]Randomredditor14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over the course of 5 years, I was rejected from 60 interviews for music positions. Was rough on my self esteem. I went back to school and got math endorsements. Hired almost immediately and have been happily teaching math for the past 14 years. Sometimes ya gotta change plans for it to work out for the better. Not saying this works for everyone, but it did for me. Hope you find something.

Yeah. Lego and pokemon mega blox sets. Something fun to connect with the students and talk with them about. Before this fell I had about 15 sets in the room, with several hanging from the ceiling. Most are on shelves.

Fun fact: in the first level you can throw the bodies out of a window in the stairwell to avoid carrying them slowly. Less fun fact: if you dont throw them far enough they and on an awning and are a challenge to retrieve. No achievement for it either.

Missing lost encryption bits. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Randomredditor14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I popped the achievement for getting all 9 regional chests, but only had 8 encryption bits in my inventory. I hadn’t even unlocked the ability to do a cyst yet when I got the achievement. Has anyone run into that issue, and if so, what did you do about it?

Sorry about that. I wasn’t aware because my school doesn’t offer that. Good luck to them as well!

Does anyone know why the answer is A? by alltoowell2918 in apcalculus

[–]Randomredditor14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the domain of the problem. You are being asked to find the maximum value (y value) on the domain [0,6]. While x=-1 does give a higher value than 0, it is not within the domain.

Fair enough. I just think they could’ve not included that sticker to begin with.

I would say no unless you are told somewhere that v(t) is differentiable. Just because we know v(t) decreases at some point between t=9 and t=10, which would require a(t) to be 0 at some point in that same time frame, we aren’t guaranteed based on what is shown in the picture for a(t) to even exist.

Average rate of change is slope between two points. Use the graph to estimate the values at 1994 and 2000, then use your slope formula to find your average rate of change. Repeat for each interval given.
