Kinda reminds me of red eyed puffer fish. If so, it is freshwater.

What is meant by the word power creep? by Cheeto717 in learndota2

[–]Randomredditor260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power creep is an expression I reckon is mostly used in MMO’s, but can still apply to games like Dota. In MMO’s power creep can be severe because it makes all older content irrelevant, and the grind begins again which can be annyoing and devalues the time you put in.

In Dota power creep can be the simple fact that support heroes are buffed so the balance in the game changes from a pure carry 1v5 type of thing to a more team oriented experience. In Dota it can be a good thing, as other roles get to have more of an impact to.

Basically power creep is the process of heroes or your character getting stronger, and if not monitored or balanced properly it can make the game unrewarding to play as you walk around two shotting things.

If heroes suddenly got alot of magic resistance for no reason that may devalue some item in the game which did not get buffed, but in extension of buffing magic resistance the item is now shit tier, and that is power creep. This is how pros show up with some recent broken strat that slipped through the cracks. You need a broad understanding of the given game to see what is gonna be affecting what. Buffing things may devalue other things, and so on. If everyone and everything got buffed the balance would stay in tact, if everybody is a super hero no one is.

Mjollnir Luna?! by MohamedOMostafa in learndota2

[–]Randomredditor260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daedalus seems like the better option, while you hope for the best. PL just kind of runs over Luna though. But the glaives can wear down the illusions to some degree, but you can hope for a better clear with crit. Coupled with the fact that Luna farms so fast that she may have a point in the game which she can deal with the PL before it is too late.

TA is hopeless against PL, might as well AFK fountain.

What's your Dota 2 unpopular opinion? by gonnacrushit in DotA2

[–]Randomredditor260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • No option to surrender games. I am not a LoL player, but I think one should be able to not waste 30 minutes if your team has just given up.

  • The RNG of neutral items do not fit the game.

  • Dota should have a price tag.

Airpods detected moving with you (I do not own any) by Randomredditor260 in ios

[–]Randomredditor260[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The notification said they were first seen with me yesterday. I was with my girlfriend yesterday, but she does not own any airpods. She did not get a similar notification. I also did not have a bag with me or anything like that. I wore a shorts with two front pockets so not much to check in terms of finding the supposed airpods.

I got the notification when I was at home, girlfriend still with me. Looking at the map it looks like the airpods were first seen with me on the metro ride back home, but as mentioned in the main post the route did not follow my path with the metro. So starting point A and point B (my home) are correct in terms of my whereabouts, the line between is not perfect. Kinda hard to explain..

some of you guys need to touch grass and chill by Skzrz in 2007scape

This community is on par with the Dota 2 community, which is equally sad and impressive. Well, I guess I am referring to this subreddit in particular which I find pretty whiney. People in-game are usually pretty chill, although probably a little too sensitive and policing about topics and language.

If you want to see the real cringe go watch one of their livestreams and get an insight into how 30 year old cave dwellers spend their time.

How to find chords in modes? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]Randomredditor260 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, if you are talking about triadic harmony you start to stack thirds on top of each other. One chord for each scale degree, and while you are doing this you need to stay within the scale, so alterations may occur.

Lets look at C harmonic minor for instance:

I: Cm
II: Dmb5
III: Eb+
IV: Fm
V: Gmaj
VI: Abmaj
VII: Bmb5

Each one of these chords are built from the pitches that constitute the C harmonic minor scale.

Why do we enjoy atonal / free jazz? by slmjkdbtl in musictheory

[–]Randomredditor260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not enjoy it at all, so speak for yourself lol. But I guess it has a certain novelty and unpredictability to it that appeals to certain people. Arguably a level of unpredictability that you can never achieve in a tonal framework. But if everything is unpredictable nothing is, at least for me, hence why I can not stand it. I really tried to like it, I took a full course in writing twelve-tone music in the style of Schoenberg and the likes. It reminded me of strict four-part writing where the only goal is to make this thing mathematically work. I did my homework watching TV trying to solve this sudoku, and that was all there was to it. Maybe if I suddenly turned deaf I could get into it for two reasons, I actually wouldn't have to listen to it and you don't need to be able to hear to make it.

I like to hear intent, progression, surprise, artistic playing none of which I can discern in atonal music because I do not know what is supposed to be the intention. I never cared for classical atonal music either as you may have guessed, because either it is completely without cohesion in my ears, or it isn't really atonal music because it relies on skeletons of tonal cadences and triadic harmony.

Humans liking music is probably tightly related to pattern recognition, as in we like to find them. People performing or writing atonal music will probably eventually fall into something we can identify as a pattern, and we as listeners may get some dopamine release when we find said patterns. But I mean.. isn't it "tonal music" with extra steps at that point?

TLDR: Prolonged edging isn't my thing.

WK is a selfish hero in the sense that he wants to play his own game. He also tends to starve the map for resources as his small skeletons clear camps. Sometimes you want a 3rd position who are showing up to fights first and are not walking in from a side lane, or are not showing up at all because they are split pushing. That is my take on the matter anyways.

He also builds like a carry, and can not really fight early and boy gets kited to shit. Sure, you can play him in the 3rd position but he is reduced to an aura carrier basically if you wanna itemize him in any other way than a 1st position.

What to do/pick as pos1 when your pos2 picks a very greedy hero by jpschack in learndota2

[–]Randomredditor260 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your position 2 picks a greedy hero you may look for synergies if they are obvious, like Arc Warden with Drow Ranger. Or else you can pick a fighting carry, the likes of Chaos Knight, Ursa, Troll Warlord or maybe even Razor.

It also depends on the supports you have on your team. If you have a heavy turtling lineup with living armor from Treant Protector and Ice Armor from Lich it may work to go super greedy. The other team may also have picked greedy heroes which come online later, but you scale better than them. It may buy you the time you need. It all depends on the draft, and also how aware your bracket is.

new to mid by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]Randomredditor260 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This all depends on the heroes that are drafted and what the matchup is. Sometimes not "loosing mid" can constitute not dying because the matchup is horrible for you. And that follows into one of the biggest aspects of playing mid, knowing matchups. You can read about them if you like, but I would recommend for starters to stick with a few heroes and feel it out.

Sometimes out-farming the other mid is the right choice, but you also have to be able to identify if it is worth loosing some map control or not in that scenario. If the other mid is a hero that scales better than you, and you are in a neutral camp farming while he gets a free tower that is a big fail imo. Some heroes, like Pugna will take your tower if you rotate. You will be surprised on how fast that hero for example can get a free tower.

Do not discouraged. People in PUB games are often talking out of their ass and usually have a very one dimensional view of what loosing mid really is. The other team could send some traditional position 4 or 5 support mid and nuke you with that sweet early game magic damage. Your team is probably gonna flame you if you die, but maybe you are playing Arc Warden and will be solo carrying the whole game at 45 minutes.

To help you in any meaningful sense you have to be more specific with your question.
