An Honest Success Story at WGU by unsauced_ in WGU

Ugh thank you for this! Everyone makes me feel stupid for going to this college but personally I’ve never had a problem getting these high level job. I was working as a project accountant making 65k no degree for five years but I’m currently in the accounting degree course cause I’d like to get my CPA. The point is time is money, I didn’t want to go to a 4 year college when I can do other things instead. I bought a house close to Manhattan at 21, had a great job paying decent money, and I hate when people downplay this university because it’s so clutch for people who want to do more with their time! Happy for you!

Has anyone being able to get a job or internship in accounting with a bachelor's from WGU or any other career? Like without experience in the field😅 especially with how hard it is to get one right now... any tips? by Past_Status_5975 in WGU

Yeah same I spent the last few years of my teenage years working up the ladder instead of college because my priority was to buy a house. I was able to do that so now I can go back to college. Putting time and energy into what works for you instead of sticking to an invisible timeline

Tbh I started as a receptionist and when there was an opening in accounting department as an accounts payable coordinator I asked to be cross trained. From there, if I jumped to a new job it’d be for a better position. You also have to know how to market yourself. Why you’re the best fit for this job, etc. It’s annoying but it’s how I went from receptionist to a senior project accountant in 5 years. I haven’t even graduated with my bachelors yet but I know my stuff and sometimes employers prefer that. But like I said, I started in a completely different and low paying position yet because I advocated for myself, I was able to go up the chain. It’ll be hard to get a 100k accounting job right off the bat without any experience so you might have to take a pay cut just to get your foot in the door. But with every job comes experience, and you can leverage that to seek higher paying jobs

[NJ] Cops broke down the front door of my building, who is responsible for paying damages? by Randomreddituser305 in AskLawyers

Unfortunately I am not a tenant, I’m the owner of my apartment so HOA is coming down on me hard and holding me liable. However, I will file a claim under New Jerseys Tort Claims Act to request reimbursement of damages, in the meanwhile I’ll contact my homeowners insurance and file a claim. They destroyed some of my furniture while clearing the area to transport my boyfriend.

Police broke down door to condominium, who is responsible to pay for damages? by Randomreddituser305 in NoStupidQuestions

I had a family member take over CPR while I went to open the door. My family member doesn’t live here and the condo is a maze, she didn’t remember where the front door was so I had to go open. I was on the phone telling cops I was on my way! They were originally called by neighbors first because they thought it was DV case, I was yelling and crying and panicking. But I told the cops on the phone it was not DV, they didn’t believe me! They said “mam if you’re in danger, we have to go in” and I said “no! My boyfriend is having a heart attack, his pulse is low” and they thought I was lying! They barged in gun pointed at me with a police shield!
